Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon
Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon ( 1694 – 30 January 1771), was an Irish politician. Born Arthur Hill, he adopted the surname Hill-Trevor in 1759. He was the second son of Michael Hill of Hillsborough, M.P. and Privy Councillor, and Anne Trevor. His maternal grandfather was the leading seventeenth-century statesman Sir John Trevor. Arthur's elder brother was Trevor Hill. 1st Viscount Hillsborough, father of the 1st Marquess of Downshire. He represented Hillsborough in the Irish House of Commons from November 1715 and then County Down from 1727 until he was raised to the Irish House of Lords when created Viscount Dungannon and Baron Hill of Olderfleet in the Peerage of Ireland on 17 February 1766. He was appointed High Sheriff of Down for 1736 and appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland on 13 August 1750. Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Baron Trevor
Arthur Edwin Hill-Trevor, 1st Baron Trevor (4 November 1819 – 25 December 1894), styled as Lord Edwin Hill until 1862 and as Lord Edwin Hill-Trevor from 1862 to 1880, was a long-standing Anglo-Irish Conservative Member of Parliament. Hill-Trevor was the third son of Arthur Hill, 3rd Marquess of Downshire, and his wife Lady Maria (née Windsor). He was elected to the House of Commons for County Down in 1845, a seat he held for the next 35 years. In 1862, on the death of their kinsman Arthur Hill-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon (on whose death the viscountcy became extinct) this branch of the Hill family succeeded to the Trevor and Dungannon estates. Arthur Hill-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon
Arthur Hill-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon (9 November 1798–11 August 1862), of Whittlebury, Northamptonshire, was an English Conservative Party politician for New Romney and the City of Durham. Early life Hill-Trevor was born in Berkeley Square, London, on 9 November 1798 and was the only surviving son of Arthur Hill-Trevor, second viscount (1763–1837), by Charlotte, third daughter of Charles FitzRoy, first Baron Southampton. His younger brother, Charles Henry, died on 18 September 1823 after falling during the Stapleton Park races. Hill-Trevor attended Harrow School and matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford on 17 October 1817. He received his B.A. in 1820 and his M.A. in 1825. He succeeded his father as the third viscount Dungannon in 1837. Career He became a Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of New Romney in 1830, a position that he held until 11 March 1831.
