Arthur Fulcher
Arthur William Fulcher (7 May 1855 – 17 May 1932) was an English yacht racer and cricketer. Early life He was born at Pau, France, the second son of Captain Edward Fulcher of the 87th Royal Irish Fusiliers and educated at Westminster school. He served for twenty years in the Yeomanry, for thirteen years in the West Kent Yeomanry, and seven years in the Suffolk Hussars, retiring with the rank of Honorary Major in 1897. He lived at Redenham Park in Hampshire. Cricket career Fulcher was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm slow. He made his first-class debut for Kent County Cricket Club against Nottinghamshire in 1878. He made six further first-class appearances for the county, the last of which came against Sussex in 1887. Pau (, ) is a Communes of France, commune overlooking the Pyrenees, and prefecture of the Departments of France, department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, regions of France, region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The city is located in the heart of the former sovereign principality of Béarn, of which it was the capital from 1464. Pau lies on the Gave de Pau, and is located from the Atlantic Ocean and from Spain. The Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians (ACS) was founded in England in 1973 for the purpose of researching and collating information about the history and statistics of cricket. Originally called the Association of Cricket Statisticians, the words "and Historians" were added in 1992 but it has continued to use the initialism ACS. The ACS headquarters were formerly in Nottingham, opposite Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, but relocated to Cardiff in 2006. Although constituted in England, the ACS has a worldwide membership and is open to anyone with a relevant interest. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
