Rt. Hon. Colonel Arthur Browne (14 March 1731 21 (buried 26) July 1779) was an Irish politician. He was a son of John Browne, 1st Earl of Altamont. Arthur Browne (1756ā€“1805)
Arthur Browne (1756 – 8 June 1805) was an Irish lawyer, academic, and politician. He sat in the House of Commons of Ireland from 1783 until its abolition in 1800, as a Member of Parliament for Dublin University. Family and early life Browne was the son of Marmaduke Browne, rector of Trinity Church in Newport, Rhode Island, who in 1761 was appointed one of the original fellows of Rhode Island College, known from 1804 as Brown University. His mother, Anne Franklin of Bristol, died in 1767. His grandfather, the Rev. Arthur Browne, born at Drogheda 1699, was educated at Trinity College Dublin, becoming B.A. 1726 and M.A. 1729. In 1729 he emigrated, at Bishop Berkeley's persuasion, to Rhode Island, and was for six years the minister of Kings Chapel, Providence, and in 1736 he became episcopal minister at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and died 10 June 1773. Arthur Browne (bishop)
Arthur Heber Browne (186410 June 1951) was the inaugural Bishop of Bermuda. Born in 1864 and educated at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, he was ordained in 1887. After a curacy at Berkeley, Gloucestershire he was appointed the Vicar of Northleach in 1890. He then served the Anglican Church in Canada before a lengthy spell as ''Missioner'' within the Diocese of Exeter. His final post (before his appointment to the episcopate) was at the united parish of ''St Michael and All Angels with All Saints , Paddington Paddington is an area within the City of Westminster, in Central London. Colonel Arthur Howe Browne, 8th Marquess of Sligo, KBE (8 May 1867 ā€“ 28 May 1951), styled Arthur Howe Browne until 1903 and Lord Arthur Browne between 1903 and 1941, was an Irish soldier and peer. Life and career Browne was the third son of Henry Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo, and Catherine Henrietta Dicken, daughter of William Stephens Dicken. He was educated at Windlesham House School from 1877 to 1880 and thereafter at Clifton College. In 1903 his father succeeded an elder brother as Marquess, and he received the courtesy style, Lord Arthur Browne. Late in his life in 1941, he himself succeeded to the marquessate on the early death of his nephew. After a period as a lieutenant in the militia, Browne came first in the competitive examinations for the Regular Army and was commissioned second lieutenant on 8 June 1889 in the Royal Munster Fusiliers. The New York ''Daily News'', officially titled the ''Daily News'', is an American newspaper based in Jersey City, NJ. It was founded in 1919 by Joseph Medill Patterson as the ''Illustrated Daily News''. It was the first U.S. daily printed in tabloid format.
