Arthur Alphin
Lieutenant Colonel Arthur ("Art") B. (Brent) Alphin (born September 5, 1948) is a retired United States Army officer and military historian. He is the founder and owner of A-Square, manufacturer of American hunting rifles. He taught military history at West Point. Since retiring he has co-authored several books with his wife and children's author Elaine Marie Alphin. He also assisted ghostwriter Lisa Harkrader in writing Animorphs #51: ''The Absolute Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (; ; 27 August 1770 – 14 November 1831) was a German philosopher. A-Square
A-Square Company, LLC was a manufacturer of rifles, ammunition and bullets based in Chamberlain, South Dakota in the United States. The company was one of 19 that are members of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer's Institution (SAAMI). The company's focus was on its firearms for hunting large dangerous game. This was reflected in the selection of larger caliber chamberings in the company's rifles. History The company was established 1979. Lieutenant Colonel Arthur B. Alphin was the founder and chief designer for the A-Square Company. Besides the company location in Chamberlain, South Dakota, the company had a location in Bedford, Kentucky. By August 2008 Alphin planned to move his ammunition factory to Butte, Montana. A-Square manufactured rifles usually came with stainless steel barrels as a standard feature. Elaine Marie Alphin
Elaine Marie Alphin (October 30, 1955 in San Francisco, California – August 19, 2014 in Glenrock, Wyoming) was an American author of more than thirty books for children and young adults. Although she specialized in fiction, she has published many non-fiction titles, including biographies of Davy Crockett, Louis Pasteur, Dwight Eisenhower, and John Paul Jones, which she co-wrote with her husband Arthur Alphin (as part of Lerner Publishing's History Maker Biographies series). She is noted for writing historical fiction and psychological thrillers. Several of her novels dealt with controversial topics such as serial killers, pedophiles, child abuse, homosexuality, murder, and suicide. At the same time those titles have proven extremely popular with both critics and young readers. Elaine Marie Alphin is one of the subjects of the Contemporary Authors series, a collection of biographies published by Thomson Gale in 2007.
