''Arthur'' is an animated Educational entertainment, educational television series for children ages 4 to 8, developed by Kathy Waugh for PBS, and produced by WGBH-TV, WGBH. The show is set in the fictional U.S. city of Elwood City, and revolves around the lives of Arthur Read, an anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic aardvark, his friends and family, and their daily interactions with each other. Marc Brown (author)
Marc Tolon Brown (born November 25, 1946) is an American author and illustrator of children's books. Brown writes as well as illustrates the ''Arthur'' book series and is best known for creating that series and its numerous spin-offs. The names of his two sons, Tolon Adam and Tucker Eliot, have been hidden in all of the ''Arthur'' books except for one. He also has a daughter named Eliza, whose name appears hidden in at least two books. He is a three-time Emmy award winner; the ''Arthur'' TV series adapted from the books was named number one on PBS for three years (1997, 2000, 2001). He also served as an executive producer on the show during seasons ten through twenty-five. He currently lives in Hingham, Massachusetts. Michael Yarmush
Michael Lawrence Yarmush (born June 19, 1982) is an American actor. He is known for providing the original voice of Arthur Read in the PBS children's animated television series ''Arthur''. Early life Yarmush was born in Miami, Florida, the son of Daniel and Diane Yarmush. Career He was the very first voice actor of Arthur Read for the first five seasons of the TV series, and ''Arthur's Perfect Christmas''. Since his voice became too deep to perform the title character's voice, Yarmush later played the recurring voice role of the Tough Customer member named Slink starting with the ninth season of the show.
