ArtEZ University of Arts () is an art academy in Netherlands. ArtEZ combines several art institutes and art disciplines with branches in Arnhem, Enschede, and Zwolle. Martin Majoor
Martin Majoor (born 14 October 1960) is a Dutch type designer and graphic designer. As of 2006, he had worked since 1997 in both Arnhem, Netherlands, and Warsaw, Poland. Biography Early life Majoor was born in 1960 in the town of Baarn, in the Provinces of the Netherlands, Dutch province of Utrecht (province), Utrecht. Education Majoor enrolled at the then (Academy of Fine Arts, Arnhem), now part of ArtEZ University of Arts, ArtEZ University of the Arts, in 1980. He graduated in 1986. AKI Academy For Art & Design
AKI Academy for Art & Design is an art academy in the city Enschede in the Netherlands. The school was found in 1946 as Academie voor Kunst en Industrie (Academy for Art and Industry), but only retains the acronym 'AKI'. The school is part of the ArtEZ group of schools. History The Academie voor Kunst en Industrie was found in 1946 by a group of textile manufacturers, to educate fabric designers for the local textile industry. Until 1955 Dirk van de Leeuw of the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheidsonderwijs was the director, after which the drawing teacher Bram Middelhoek (1906–1968) took over. In 1968, after some fifteen years of functioning as a traditional applied arts school, the AKI changed course to focus on free modern art with the appointment of Joop Hardy as new director. Iris van Herpen (born June 5, 1984) is a Dutch fashion designer known for fusing technology with traditional haute couture craftsmanship. Van Herpen opened her own label ''Iris van Herpen'' in 2007. In 2011, the Dutch designer became a guest-member of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, part of the Fédération française de la couture. Simone Atangana Bekono (born 1991) is a Dutch author. Her debut novel ''Confrontations'' was published in 2020 and translated to English in 2024. Atangana Bekono studied creative writing at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem. Alexander van Slobbe (born March 25, 1959, Schiedam) is a Dutch fashion designer. Background Alexander van Slobbe attended the Vrije School in Rotterdam and graduated with honors laude in 1984 from the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design. After working for clothing companies, Van Slobbe founded the label called Orson & Bodil in 1989. Bodil is the name of his niece, Orson is a reference to Orson Welles.
