Artemio Murakami
Artemio Murakami (born 22 July 1983) is a Filipino professional golfer. Murakami turned professional in 2005 and joined the Asian Tour in 2007. In his debut season he won his first tournament at the Iskandar Johor Open, and in 2008 he recorded his best Order of Merit finish of 47th. However, since then his form has declined, and he lost his tour card at the end of 2010. Murakami's father is Japanese; as a result he holds dual citizenship. 2004 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2004 Eisenhower Trophy took place 28–31 October at Rio Mar Country Club in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. It was the 24th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 66 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played on the River course on the third day and were due to play on the Ocean course on the final day. Heavy rain and lightning caused the final day to be abandoned and the event was reduced to 54 holes. The leading 36 teams had played their third round on the River course while the others played on the Ocean course. The United States won their 13th Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of Spain, who took the silver medal. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. The Philippine Open was one of the world's longest-running men's golf tournaments. First held in 1913, it is also Asia's oldest golf tournament. Guido Van Der Valk
Guido van der Valk (born 26 January 1980) is a Dutch professional golfer. Career After a successful amateur career, which included representing his country at the Eisenhower Trophy, van der Valk turned down several college offers to turn professional in 2002. He joined the Challenge Tour and finished 36th in the standings in his debut season, the highlight being a second-place finish behind Iain Pyman at the BMW Russian Open. After two disappointing seasons he joined the Asian Tour in 2005.
