Artem Datsyshyn
Artem Viktorovych Datsyshyn ( uk, Артем Вікторович Дацишин, 26 January 1979 – 17 March 2022) was a Ukrainian ballet dancer and soloist with the National Opera of Ukraine, where he performed leading roles in ballets including Tchaikovsky's ''Swan Lake'' and Prokofiev's ''Romeo and Juliet''. He achieved prizes in international competitions, and toured in Europe, North America, and Japan. He was killed by Russian artillery fire during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Life and career Datsyshyn was born in Kherson and graduated from the Kyiv Choreographic School associated with the Kyiv Ballet. He studied with V. Parsegov. While still a student, he competed in the 1996 International Serge Lifar Ballet Competition achieving a third prize. Jules Perrot
Jules-Joseph Perrot (18 August 1810 – 29 August 1892) was a dancer and choreographer who later became Ballet Master of the Imperial Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia. He created some of the most famous ballets of the 19th century including ''Pas de Quatre'', '' La Esmeralda'', '' Ondine'', and ''Giselle'' with Jean Coralli. From dancer to balletmaster The Lyon-born Perrot danced often with Marie Taglioni but their partnership was short-lived. She eventually refused to dance with him fearing that he would outshine her. He left the Opéra in 1835 to tour European dance centers such as London, Milan, Vienna and Naples, where he met and noticed the talent of Carlotta Grisi. Alexei Ratmansky
Alexei Osipovich Ratmansky (russian: Алексей Осипович Ратманский, born August 27, 1968) is a Russian-American choreographer and former ballet dancer. From 2004 to 2008 he was the director of the Bolshoi Ballet. He left Russia in 2008. As of April 2014 he was the artist in residence at the American Ballet Theatre. Training and performance career Ratmansky was born in St. Petersburg and trained under Pyotr Pestov and Alexandra Markeyeva at the Bolshoi Ballet School. He graduated in 1986. Karen Surenovich Khachaturian (russian: Карэн Суренович Хачатурян, hy, Կարեն Խաչատրյան) (Moscow, 19 September 1920 – Moscow, 19 July 2011) was a Soviet and Russian composer of Armenian ethnicity and the nephew of composer Aram Khachaturian. Cipollino (), or Little Onion as translated from the original, is a fictional character from Gianni Rodari's eponymous ''Tale of Cipollino'' ( it, Il romanzo di Cipollino), also known under its 1957 renamed title ''Adventures of Cipollino'' ( it, Le avventure di Cipollino), a children's tale about political oppression.
