Art Powell (wide Receiver)
Arthur Louis Powell (February 25, 1937 – April 6, 2015) was an American football wide receiver. Early career Powell attended and played high school football at San Diego High School and played college football at San Jose State University. His brother, Charlie Powell was also a professional football player. Professional career Powell played for the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian football league in 1957 and 1958. Powell played in the American Football League (AFL) for the New York Titans, Oakland Raiders, and the Buffalo Bills. He also played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings. Possessing the size, speed and ability to make remarkable plays all over the field, Powell was one of the American Football League's first stars. The National Football League Draft, also called the NFL Draft or (officially) the Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the league's most common source of player recruitment. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last. From this position, the team can either select a player or trade its position to another team for other draft positions, a player or players, or any combination thereof. Charlie Powell
Charles Elvin Powell (April 4, 1932 – September 1, 2014) was an American multi-sport professional sportsman as an NFL football player, professional boxer (who once fought both Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson), and Minor League baseball player. Powell was born in Texas. He and his younger brother Art Powell, an NFL wide receiver for the New York Titans and Oakland Raiders in the 1960s, grew up in the Logan Heights area of San Diego, California. Powell played professional baseball and football as well as boxed. His greatest success was as an NFL player and a boxer, even boxing against Muhammad Ali. American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves.
