Art Of Love (film)
''Art of Love'' (formerly titled ''Simone'') is a 2022 Puerto Rican romantic thriller film directed by Betty Kaplan and starring Esai Morales and Kunjue Li. It is based on the 2013 novel ''Simone'' by Eduardo Lalo, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kaplan. Plot summary With thoughts voiced by a narrator, a university professor gives a passionate lecture to students. An Asian-looking studet watches intently. The professor receives a note delivered by a person on a skateboard. Then he is at a mall. Julia looks at engagement rings at a shopping mall. The professor drives Julia and her son, Javier, afterwards. He tells Julia about a note that was delivered to him by a person on a skateboard and she gets annoyed, and they argue. They arrive at home and he carries the boy to bed. Julia undresses and seduces him after saying "too bad (her son) isn't yours". Betty Kaplan
Betty Kaplan is a Venezuelan-American film and television director born in New York City and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She is Co-Chair of the Directors Guild of America Latino Committee. Kaplan has directed the films '' Doña Bárbara'', '' Almost a Woman'' and '' Of Love and Shadows'', the last one adapted from the novel by Isabel Allende.She has won several awards, among them the Peabody Award and many Audience Awards for her work. Eduardo Lalo (born 1960) is a Puerto Rican novelist, best known for his novel ''Simone'', who won the Rómulo Gallegos Prize. Biography Although born in Cuba, he identifies himself as Puerto Rican and is involved in the island's affairs. He lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico since the age of two. He studied at the Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola, where he graduated in 1977. He then went on to study at Columbia University and later at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle. Lalo's works are difficult to define generically.
