Rambouillet
Rambouillet (, , ) is a subprefecture of the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region of France. It is located beyond the outskirts of Paris, southwest of its centre. In 2018, the commune had a population of 26,933. Rambouillet lies on the edge of the vast Forest of Rambouillet (''Forêt de Rambouillet'' or ''Forêt de l'Yveline''); it is famous for its historical castle, the Château de Rambouillet, which hosted several international summits. Due to its proximity to Paris and Versailles, Rambouillet has long been an occasional seat of government. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, 30.6 km (19.0 mi) from the center of Paris, in the " new town" of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Dampierre-en-Yvelines is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. The Castle of Dampierre-en-Yvelines One of the main features of the commune is the prominently featured castle, or Chateau, of Dampierre-en-Yvelines. Hired by the Luynes family, the architect Jules Hardouin Mansart built Dampierre at the same time as he was working on the Palace of Versailles for the King Louis XIV. 15th and 16th Century Residence of the cardinal Charles de Lorraine, archbishop of Reims, and Duke of Chevreuse, the 15th century castle was considered by its owner as too austere. Coignières
Coignières () is a French commune in the Yvelines department, region of Île-de-France. Geography Coignières is situated southwest of Versailles. Its neighbours include Maurepas to the north, Mesnil-Saint-Denis and Lévis-Saint-Nom to the east, Essarts-le-Roi to the south and Saint-Rémy-l'Honoré to the west. The village is roughly 170 m above sea level, fairly flat except to the west where there is a valley with the Mauldre river which runs from the area called ''la Maison Blanche'' to the north. Coignières is connected by route nationale 10 (RN10), which traverses the commune from the northeast to the southwest, and given the amount of traffic it effectively divides the commune in two. Chevreuse
Chevreuse () is a commune in the French department of Yvelines, administrative region of ÃŽle-de-France, north-central France. Geography Chevreuse is located south of Paris, in the middle of a regional natural park, Parc naturel régional de la haute vallée de Chevreuse. The river Yvette flows through the area, forming the fertile Vallée de Chevreuse. History Chevreuse was founded in the 10th century, and celebrated its first millennium of existence in 1980.
