Montauban
Montauban (, ; oc, Montalban ) is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, region of Occitania, Southern France. It is the capital of the department and lies north of Toulouse. Montauban is the most populated town in Tarn-et-Garonne, and the sixth most populated of Occitanie behind Toulouse, Montpellier, Nîmes, Perpignan and Béziers. In 2019, there were 61,372 inhabitants, called ''Montalbanais''. The town has been classified ''Ville d’art et d’histoire'' (City of art and history) since 2015. The town, built mainly of a reddish brick, stands on the right bank of the Tarn at its confluence with the Tescou. History Montauban is the second oldest (after Mont-de-Marsan) of the ''bastides'' of southern France. Its foundation dates from 1144 when Count Alphonse Jourdain of Toulouse, granted it a liberal charter. Caylus, Tarn-et-Garonne
Caylus (; Languedocien: ''Cailutz'') is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Its inhabitants are called Caylusiens and Caylusiennes. City Caylus is famous for a castle built before 1176, and was owned by Raymond V of Toulouse at the time. It was taken by Simon de Montfort in 1211, before moving into the royal domain in 1270. In 1562, the city was sacked by the troops Calvinists of Symphorien Durfort, lord of Duras. In 1622, Louis XIII established headquarters here during the siege of Saint-Antonin. Caussade
Caussade is a commune in the district of Montauban, located in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in the south of France. Caussade, an ancient city of the white Quercy or lower Quercy, it is located in the hills of Quercy and nicknamed " hat city" due to milliner production in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The straw hat, the famous boater was made in Caussade. The inhabitants are called ''the Caussadais and Caussadaises''. Geography Caussade is situated in the valley of the Lère, a tributary of the Aveyron. For two kilometers, geological mutations overwhelm the landscape, leaving the plateau of Limognes and its western and southern extension as a low Jurassic plateau.
