Arrigo Boito (; 24 February 1842 10 June 1918) (whose original name was Enrico Giuseppe Giovanni Boito and who wrote essays under the anagrammatic pseudonym of Tobia Gorrio) was an Italian poet, journalist, novelist, librettist and composer, best known today for his libretti, especially those for Giuseppe Verdi's last two monumental operas '' Otello'' and ''Falstaff'' (not to mention Amilcare Ponchielli's operatic masterpiece '' La Gioconda'') and his own opera ''Mefistofele''. Arrigo Boldrini (6 September 1915 – 22 January 2008) was an Italian politician and partisan, one of the most prominent figures of the Italian resistance movement, president of National Association of Italian Partisans for almost 60 years. Biography During the Resistance In 1943, Boldrini joined the then clandestine Italian Communist Party and has been one of the main promoters of the Resistance in Romagna. During the Resistance, Boldrini was the National Liberation Committee's reference man of Ravenna and leader of the 28th Garibaldi Brigade entitled to the partisan "Mario Gordini". During the Nazi-Fascist occupation, Boldrini was always at the forefront during the liberation missions in Romagna and was nicknamed ''Bulow'', an homage to Prussian general Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Bülow. Hendrick van den Broeck or Arrigo Fiammingo (c. 1530 – 28 September 1597) was a Flemish people, Flemish painter, fresco painter, glass painter and sculptor of the late-Renaissance or Mannerism, Mannerist period. After training in Flanders, he travelled to Italy where he remained active in various cities for the remainder of his life. Arrigo Sacchi (born 1 April 1946) is an Italian former professional football coach. He has twice managed AC Milan (1987–1991, 1996–1997), with great success. He won the Serie A title in his 1987–88 debut season and then dominated European football by winning back to back European Cups in 1989 and 1990. From 1991 to 1996, he was head coach of the Italy national team and led them to the 1994 FIFA World Cup Final, where they lost to Brazil in a penalty shoot-out. Sacchi is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time and his Milan side (1987–1991) is widely regarded to be one of the greatest club sides to ever play the game, and by some to be the greatest of all time. Arrigo Solmi (1873–1944) was an Italian legal scholar. He served as the Italian Minister of Justice, minister of grace and justice between 1934 and 1939 in the Mussolini Cabinet, cabinet of Benito Mussolini. He was among the pioneers in the establishment of international relations as an academic subject in Italy. Early life and education Solmi was born in Finale Emilia on 27 January 1873. In 1895 he graduated from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, University of Modena. Career Following his graduation Solmi worked at the National Library of Palermo. He taught history of Italian law, international law, and constitutional rights at the University of Cagliari between 1902 and 1906. ''I vespri siciliani'' (; ''The Sicilian Vespers'') is a five-act Italian opera originally written in French for the Paris Opéra by the Italian romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi and translated into Italian shortly after its premiere in June 1855.
