''Arrangiatevi!'', internationally released as ''You're on Your Own'', is a 1959 Italian comedy film directed by Mauro Bolognini. In 2008 the film was selected to enter the list of the 100 Italian films to be saved. Plot summary Peppino and his family move into a "brothel", i.e. an apartment inhabited by a group of prostitutes in the ancient streets of Rome. One of the girls mysteriously died, and so the house was bought by the family just in time for Peppino, who is forced to share with another family. Because of the gossips of the city and the neighborhood, in a short time Peppino's family falls into disgrace. Peppino, not knowing what to do as a father, comes to discover that his daughter has serious problems with her boyfriend. Giorgio Ardisson
Giorgio Ardisson, best known as George Ardisson (31 December 1931 – 11 December 2014), was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Turin, Ardisson debuted in a minor role in Mauro Bolognini's 1959 film ''Arrangiatevi!''. After several secondary roles in sword-and-sandal and adventure films, he gained a huge success playing Agent 3S3 in the eurospy films '' Agent 3S3: Passport to Hell'' and ''Agent 3S3, Massacre in the Sun''. According to director Sergio Sollima he was chosen for this role thanks to his physical appearance that made him credible as American. Later Ardisson starred in several more spy films and spanned different genres, including Spaghetti Western and Italo-horror films. Mauro Bolognini
Mauro Bolognini (28 June 1922 – 14 May 2001) was an Italian film and stage director of literate sensibility, known for his masterly handling of period subject matter. Early years Bolognini was born in Pistoia, in the Tuscany region of Italy. After earning a master's degree in architecture at the University of Florence, Bolognini enrolled at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italian National Film Academy) in Rome, where he studied stage design. After graduation, he became interested in film direction and set out to work as an assistant to directors Luigi Zampa in Italy, and Yves Allégret and Jean Delannoy in France. Peppino De Filippo (born Giuseppe De Filippo; 24 August 1903 – 27 January 1980) was an Italian actor. De Filippo was born in Naples, brother of actor and dramatist Eduardo De Filippo and of Titina De Filippo. He made his stage debut at the age of six. He played in several movies such as ''Rome-Paris-Rome'', ''Variety Lights'', ''A Day in Court'', '' Ferdinand I, King of Naples'' and ''Boccaccio '70''. Alma Franca Maria Norsa (31 July 1920 – 9 August 2020), known professionally as Franca Valeri, was an Italian actress, playwright, screenwriter, author, and theatre director. Life and career Born in Milan as Alma Franca Maria Norsa, she managed to survive the Holocaust in Milan with her non-Jewish mother due to a fake I.D. which purported her to be the illegitimate daughter of a gentleman from Pavia. Her Jewish father and brother were able to flee to Switzerland. Since her father did not want her to become an actress, Norsa adopted the stage name Valeri in the 1950s as suggested by a friend of hers who was reading a book by French critic and poet Paul Valéry. His prolific output included about 250 film compositions, as well as arrangements for other films, and music for television.
