Arnold Otwani
Arnold Otwani (born 19 September 1995) is a Ugandan cricketer. He played one List A match in December 2010 for Uganda, during their tour of Kenya. He played for Uganda in the 2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in May 2017. In October 2018, he was named in Uganda's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Oman. He was the leading run-scorer for Uganda in the tournament, with 151 runs in five matches. In May 2019, he was named in Uganda's squad for the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier tournament in Uganda. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Uganda against Botswana on 20 May 2019. In July 2019, he was one of twenty-five players named in the Ugandan training squad, ahead of the Cricket World Cup Challenge League fixtures in Hong Kong. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. 2019 Oman Cricket World Cup Challenge League B
The 2019 Oman Cricket World Cup Challenge League B was the inaugural edition of Group B of the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League, a cricket tournament which formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. It took place in Oman, with all the matches having List A status. Initially, it was scheduled to take place between 25 November and 10 December 2019 in Hong Kong. However, citing the instability in Hong Kong, the first round of matches in League B were moved to Oman. Uganda won the series, after they won all five of their matches. 2022 Jersey Cricket World Cup Challenge League B
The 2022 Jersey Cricket World Cup Challenge League B was the third and final round of matches in Group B of the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League, a cricket tournament which forms part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to take place in Jersey in September 2021, but it was rescheduled to take place in Hong Kong due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a further postponement, in February 2022, the tournament was rescheduled to be played in Jersey in August 2022. This was the first senior international tournament hosted in Jersey since the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five. With three games remaining, Hong Kong were one point ahead of Jersey and Uganda at the top of the group table. Ugandan Cricket Team In Namibia In 2020–21
The Uganda cricket team toured Namibia in April 2021 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series and two 50-over matches. All of the matches were played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek. Namibia won the first T20I match on 3 April by seven wickets, with captain Gerhard Erasmus leading the chase with 62 not out from just 36 balls. Two further victories for the hosts on 5 April, the first of which was rain affected, meant the hosts swept the T20I series 3–0. List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019.
