Arnold Morley
Arnold Morley (18 February 1849 – 16 January 1916) was a British barrister and Liberal Party (UK), Liberal politician. Background Morley was a younger son of Samuel Morley (MP), Samuel Morley and Rebekah Maria, daughter of Samuel Hope of Liverpool. Samuel Morley, 1st Baron Hollenden, Lord Hollenden was his elder brother. Political career Morley was elected Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament for Nottingham (UK Parliament constituency), Nottingham at a by-election in 1880, and held the seat until the constituency was divided for the 1885 United Kingdom general election, 1885 general election. He was then elected as MP for the new Nottingham East (UK Parliament constituency), Nottingham East constituency, and held that seat until his defeat at the 1895 United Kingdom general election, 1895 general election. Colonel Sir Charles Seely, 1st Baronet KGStJ, DL (11 August 1833 – 16 April 1915) was a British industrialist and politician. Seely was Liberal Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Nottingham from 1869 to 1874 and 1880 to 1885, and for Nottingham West from 1885 to 1886, and Liberal Unionist MP for Nottingham West from 1892 to 1895. He was an industrialist and major landowner on the Isle of Wight and in Nottinghamshire. He was also a noted philanthropist. In October 1895 he was the 1st person to be presented with the honorary Freedom of the City of Nottingham, for "Eminent services and noble generosity towards the philanthropic institutions of the City." John Skirrow Wright (2 February 1822 – ) was one of the distinguished pioneers and social improvers of the 19th century in Birmingham, England; and inventor of the postal order. He was involved in many aspects of Birmingham's mid-Victorian life that were intended for the benefit of its citizens, including the General Hospital, the Chamber of Commerce, the School of Art, the Children's Hospital, the early Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund, and the Blue Coat School.
