Arnold Koller
Arnold Koller (born 29 August 1933) is a Swiss politician and member of the Swiss Federal Council (1986–1999). He was elected to the Federal Council of Switzerland on 10 December 1986 as a member of the Christian Democratic People's Party of Switzerland from the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. He handed over office on 30 April 1999. Arnold Koller was Chairman of the Board of the Second International Conference on Federalism held in St. Gallen in 2002, and of the Forum of Federations from 2006 to 2010. This is an international organisation designed to help develop best practices in countries around the world with federal and devolved systems of government. With Raoul Blindenbacher he is the editor of the book "Federalism in a Changing World" published at McGill-Queens University Press, Montreal 2003. The president of the Swiss Confederation, also known as the president of the Confederation or colloquially as the president of Switzerland, is the head of Switzerland's seven-member Federal Council, the country's executive branch. Elected by the Federal Assembly for one year, the officeholder chairs the meetings of the Federal Council and undertakes special representational duties. First among equals, the president of the Confederation has no powers over and above the other six councillors and continues to head the assigned department. Traditionally the duty rotates among the members in order of seniority; the vice president of the Federal Council assumes the presidency the year after the officeholder's tenure. The president of the Confederation is not the head of state because the entire Federal Council is the collective head of state. Martin Bundi
Martin Bundi (19 October 1932 – 1 January 2020) was a Swiss historian and politician. He was a member of the Swiss National Council from 1975 to 1995 and was the chamber’s President in 1985 and 1986. He was a native of the Canton of Grisons and a longtime member of the Social Democratic Party. Prior to his political career, he was a teacher who conducted research of the history of Grisons and the Rhaetian Alps. He was also active in the preservation of the Rhaeto-Romance language. Biography Bundi was born in Sagogn in the Canton of Grisons on 19 October 1932. He earned a doctorate at the University of Zürich in 1963 and became a teacher at the Graubünden Teacher Training Collegein Chur. He became the deputy director of the college in 1967.
