Arne Korsmo
Arne Korsmo (14 August 1900 – 29 August 1968) was a leading architect in Norway and a propagator of the international architectural style. He taught at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry and he was a professor at the Department of Architecture at the Norwegian Institute of Technology. Biography Arne Korsmo grew up in Oslo and took his final exams during 1920. He earned a diploma from the architectural line of the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1926. He practiced with some of Oslo's leading architects including Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson. During 1926–27, Korsmo worked at the architectural office of Finn Bryn and Johan Ellefsen, where he first came into contact with modernism. In 1928, Korsmo started his own practice with architect Sverre Aasland (1899–1989). Several of his villas were designed and built in the years while he was in partnership with Sverre Aasland. Grete Prytz Kittelsen
Grete Prytz Kittelsen (born Adelgunde Margrethe Prytz, June 28, 1917, Oslo, died September 25, 2010, Oslo), was a Norwegian goldsmith, enamel artist, and designer. She is one of the most well-known Norwegians in the Scandinavian Design movement, and has been referred to as the "Queen of Scandinavian Design". Through her work she contributed to internationalisation, innovation and scientific research. She was one of the few Norwegian practitioners who shaped the Scandinavian design style in the post-war era and is the periods’ most renowned Norwegian practitioner. Kittelsen's aim was to make beautiful and user-friendly everyday objects available for everyone. She had a vast and varied production. With her enamelled objects and jewellery she has been a pioneer in design in the post-war era and a model for the next generation of designers. Villa Stenersen
Villa Stenersen in Oslo is drawn by architect Arne Korsmo for the financier, art collector and author Rolf Stenersen and his family in 1939. The house were intended to serve both as a residence and as a gallery for his large art collection, and is considered as one of the main works of architecture in the Norwegian functionalism style. It is also the only Norwegian member of Iconic Houses. At the moment, it is in the middle of a restoration process headed by Statsbygg, in collaboration with the National Gallery and the Stenersen family. Houen Foundation Award
The Houen Foundation Award ( no, Houens fonds diplom) is Norway's most important award for architecture. It was established in 1893 by Anton Christian Houen (1823–1894). A successful merchant and businessman, Houen established several philanthropic legacies and funds in culture and research. Terje Moe (architect)
Terje Moe (4 November 1933 – 24 July 2009) was a Norwegian architect. He was born in Oslo. He graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1959, and worked as a teacher there from 1959 to 1966. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old.
