Army Aviation Corps (Germany)
The German Army Aviation Corps (german: Heeresfliegertruppe) is a special unit within the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The German Army Aviation Corps is a branch of the German Army (''Heer''), containing all its helicopter units. The German Air Force and the German Navy both also have their own helicopter units. Identification The coat of arms of the German Army Aviation Corps depicts a white eagle, swooping down whilst carrying a sword in its claws. Members of the Army Aviation Corps wear a burgundy-coloured beret. The badge on the beret is a wing, crossed vertically by a sword, surrounded by oak leaves. The ''Waffenfarbe'' of the German Army Aviation Corps ( a means the German military uses to distinguish between different corps or troop functions in its armed services) is silver-grey. Army Aviation Corps (India)
The Army Aviation Corps (AAC) is an arm of the Indian Army which was formed on 1 November 1986. The corps is headed by a director general (with the rank of lieutenant general) at army headquarters in New Delhi. History The origin of Army Aviation Corps can be traced back to Army Aviation Wing of the Royal Indian Air Force in 1942 and subsequent formation of Indian Air Observation Post in August 1947. During Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, helicopters of Air Observation Post played vital role by flying close to enemy lines to help ground assets spot targets. In 1984, the Indian Army's Northern Command inducted the HAL Cheetah during the Siachen Glacier conflict and participated in Operation Meghdoot. Two years later, the Indian Air Force's Air Observation Post units were transferred to the Indian Army to form its Army Aviation Corps. Australian Army Aviation (AAAvn) is a corps of the Australian Army. It was formed on 1 July 1968, although it has a history dating back to 1911, when the Minister of Defence at the time, Senator George Pearce, decided there should be a flying school in the Defence Department. The motto of the Australian Army Aviation corps is Vigilance. In August 2018, the Corps consisted of 140 aircraft, 1495 uniformed personnel and over 3000 personnel engaged in industry support. AAAvn units also utilise soldiers from various other Army corps. The Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers trains aeronautical engineers, structural fitters, technicians, life support staff and avionics technicians, while the Royal Australian Corps of Transport trains and provides air dispatchers and drivers.
