Armenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2013
Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Lonely Planet" written by Tony Iommi and Vardan Zadoyan. The song was performed by the band Dorians, which was selected internally by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) to represent Armenia in the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. In May 2012, Armenia announced that they would be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest after a one-year absence following their withdrawal in 2012 due to tensions with then host country Azerbaijan. Gor Sujyan was announced as the Armenian artist on 22 January 2013, while the song was selected through a national final, which took place on 2 March 2013 where four songs competed. Dorians (band)
Dorians is an Armenian rock band founded in June 2008 by Vahagn Gevorgyan. In February 2009 the band participated at the first qualifying round of the international Eurovision Song Contest, which brought popularity to the band. In 2013 Dorians represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö. History In April 2009 Dorians won the "Best Newcomer" award at the annual ''Tashir Music Awards'' in Moscow. In June of the same year, the band performed its first big concert celebrating its one-year anniversary in Yerevan. Nodiko Tatishvili
Nodiko "Nodar" Tatishvili () (born November 5, 1986) is a Georgian singer. Biography He was six years old when he made his first appearance in the Tbilisi Great Concert Hall. He was a soloist of children ensemble. At the age of eight, he won the national contest and already at age nine singing with the ensemble Iveria in the musical Two Dwarfs. During the "mutation period" Nodiko took a part in the television project "School of Nutsa" and after that many popular composers and musicians. Georgia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Waterfall" written by Thomas G:son and Erik Bernholm. The song was performed by Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani, who were internally selected in December 2012 by the Georgian broadcaster Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) to compete at the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. The Georgian entry, "Waterfall", was presented to the public on 27 February 2013. Georgia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 16 May 2013. Performing during the show in position 15, "Waterfall" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 18 May. Armenia In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012
Armenia selected its entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest through a televised national final, held on 30 September 2012, organised by the Armenian national broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (ARMTV). The entry selected was Compass Band with the song Sweetie Baby. Before Junior Eurovision National final A submission period for artists was held until 20 August 2012. The broadcaster received 20 submissions. The seventeen finalists were revealed on 6 September 2012. The final took place on 30 September 2012. Sona Rubenyan ( arm, Սոնա Ռուբենյան, born December 14, 1993) is an Armenian singer and songwriter. She is best known for winning the fifth edition of ''Hay Superstar''.
