Armed Response (1986 Film)
''Armed Response'' is a 1986 action thriller film directed by Fred Olen Ray and starring David Carradine and Lee Van Cleef.Cohn, Lawrence L. "Review: Armed Response". ''Variety'' (324). October 8, 1986. p. 21. It is the first action film made by CineTel Films and distributed by Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Plot One of the men of a dangerous Yakuza boss known as Akira Tanaka has subtracted a statuette that he had planned to use as a peace offering between the local Yakuza and a rival Chinese tong. It seems that two private investigators were hired for the exchange of bailout money to restore the statue, but their business plan to recover the statue gets worse and Clay Roth is killed. This infuriates the Roth brothers and their father, as all three of them happen to be veterans, as they go off to find the person responsible and get their revenge as well. Fred Olen Ray (born September 10, 1954) is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter of more than 200 low-to-medium-budget feature films in many genres, including Horror film, horror, science fiction, action film, action/adventure film, adventure, erotic thrillers, crime dramas, and holiday films. Ray is the head of Retromedia, which releases DVDs of both his own productions and archival films. He has also worked for other well-known independent studios and on a few occasions for major Hollywood studios. He has been cited as an inspiration for many independent filmmakers. He loaned a 16 mm camera to Quentin Tarantino so he could make ''My Best Friend's Birthday''. Aside from his work in the film industry, Ray was also a professional wrestler. Dick Miller
Richard Miller (December 25, 1928 – January 30, 2019) was an American character actor who appeared in more than 180 films, including many produced by Roger Corman. He later appeared in the films of directors who began their careers with Corman, including Joe Dante, James Cameron, and Martin Scorsese, with the distinction of appearing in every film directed by Dante. Michael Berryman
Michael John Berryman (born September 4, 1948) is an American character actor. Berryman was born with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, a rare condition characterized by the absence of sweat glands, hair, and fingernails; his unusual physical appearance has allowed Berryman to make a career out of portraying characters in horror movies and B movies.
