Armar Lowry-Corry, 3rd Earl Belmore
Armar Lowry-Corry, 3rd Earl Belmore (28 December 1801 – 17 December 1845), styled Viscount Corry from 1802 to 1841, was an Irish nobleman and politician. Background and career Lowry-Corry was the eldest son of Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore and his wife Lady Juliana Butler. His younger brother was Henry Thomas Lowry-Corry, who served as First Lord of the Admiralty under Lord Derby and Benjamin Disraeli. He studied at Christ Church, Oxford and was the Tory Member of Parliament for County Fermanagh from 1823 to 1831 and was appointed High Sheriff of County Fermanagh in 1832. He succeeded his father to the peerage and to the family seat at Castle Coole in 1841. Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore
Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore (11 July 1774 – 18 April 1841), styled The Honourable from 1781 to 1797 and then known as Viscount Corry to 1802, was an Irish nobleman and politician. Politics and inheritance Lowry-Corry was the only surviving son of Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Earl Belmore, and his first wife Lady Margaret Butler. In 1798, he was elected to the Irish House of Commons for Tyrone and represented the constituency until the Act of Union in 1801. Thereafter he was returned to the British House of Commons for County Tyrone, a seat he held until 1802, when he succeeded his father as earl. In 1819 Lord Belmore was appointed Custos Rotulorum of Tyrone and elected as a Representative Peer for Ireland. He served as Governor of Jamaica from 1828 to 1832 and was also a colonel in the Tyrone Militia. Charles Wood, 1st Viscount Halifax
Charles Wood, 1st Viscount Halifax (20 December 1800 – 8 August 1885), known as Sir Charles Wood, 3rd Baronet, between 1846 and 1866, was a British Whig politician and Member of the British Parliament. He served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1846 to 1852. Background Halifax was the son of Sir Francis Lindley Wood, 2nd Baronet of Barnsley, and his wife Anne, daughter of Samuel Buck. He was educated at Eton and Oriel College, Oxford, where he studied classics and mathematics. Earl Belmore is a title in the Peerage of Ireland that was created in 1797 for Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Earl Belmore, Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Viscount Belmore, who had previously represented County Tyrone in the Irish House of Commons. He had already been created Baron Belmore, of Castle Coole in County Fermanagh (now in Northern Ireland), in 1781 and Viscount Belmore in 1789, also in the Peerage of Ireland. Born Armar Lowry, he was the son of Galbraith Lowry, Member of the Irish House of Commons for County Tyrone, and his wife Sarah, daughter of Colonel John Corry. In 1774, he assumed by Royal licence the additional surname of Corry. He was succeeded by his eldest son, the second Earl. William Cole, 3rd Earl Of Enniskillen
William Willoughby Cole, 3rd Earl of Enniskillen, FRS (25 January 180712 November 1886) styled by the courtesy title Viscount Cole until 1840, was an Irish palaeontologist and Conservative Member of Parliament. He also served as the first Imperial Grand Master of the Orange Order from 1866 until his death. He was Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland from 1846 until his death. Hon. Sir Galbraith Lowry Cole, (1 May 1772 – 4 October 1842) was an Anglo-Irish British Army general and politician. Early life Cole was the second son of an Irish peer, William Willoughby Cole, 1st Earl of Enniskillen (1 March 1736–22 May 1803), and Anne Lowry-Corry (d. September 1802), the daughter of Galbraith Lowry-Corry of Tyrone, and the sister of Armar Lowry-Corry, 1st Earl Belmore. Army service Cole was commissioned a cornet in 12th Dragoon Guards in 1787,. He transferred to 5th Dragoon Guards as a lieutenant in 1791 and to 70th Foot as a captain in 1792, and served in the West Indies, Ireland, and Egypt. He was appointed lieutenant colonel in Ward’s late regiment of foot in 1794 and lieutenant colonel in the late General Villette's corps in 1799, on Full Pay although these units had been disbanded. Mervyn Archdall (junior)
General Mervyn Archdall (27 April 1763 – 26 July 1839) was an Irish officer in the British Army and Member of Parliament for County Fermanagh in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. He was the eldest son of Mervyn Archdall (1724?–1813) of Castle Archdall, Enniskillen, Fermanagh, an MP in the Parliament of Ireland for nearly 40 years. He succeeded his father in 1813, inheriting Castle Archdale house. Archdall joined the British Army as an ensign in the 12th Dragoons and rose through the ranks in that regiment to that of full general on 27 May 1825. He had command of the regiment under Sir Ralph Abercromby during the Egyptian campaign, losing his right arm in an impromptu cavalry charge at Lake Mareotis in 1801. As a major-general he afterwards spent time on the staff in Ireland. In 1833, he and wife Jane were passengers in a carriage accident cause by flooding near Castle Saunderson in Cavan.
