Palmi (; scn, label= Reggino, Parmi; la, Palmae) is a ''comune'' (municipality) of about 19,303 inhabitants in the province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria. Common Man's Front
The Common Man's Front ( it, Fronte dell'Uomo Qualunque, UQ), also translated as Front of the Ordinary Man, was a short-lived right-wing populist, monarchist and anti-communist political party in Italy. It was formed shortly after the end of the Second World War and participated in the first post-war election for the constituent assembly in 1946. Its leader was the Roman writer Guglielmo Giannini, and its symbol was the banner of Giannini's newspaper ''L'Uomo qualunque'' ("The Common Man"). Position and structure The party opposed the broad alliance of anti-fascist parties united in the National Liberation Committees (CLN) and ranging from the Communists to the Christian Democrats as well as the occupation by the Allies. The Italian Constituent Assembly (Italian: ''Assemblea Costituente della Repubblica Italiana'') was a parliamentary chamber which existed in Italy from 25 June 1946 until 31 January 1948. It was tasked with writing a constitution for the Italian Republic, which had replaced the Kingdom of Italy after the 1946 Italian institutional referendum. The National Union was a parliamentary group formed in 1947 in the Constituent Assembly of Italian Republic, spin-off of the Common Man's Front. Background The Common Man's Front was a political movement with a very light and informal structure, completely in opposition to the great mass parties that were formed in Italy. Despite the initial successes achieved especially in Rome and in Southern Italy, the movement accused obvious problems related not only to the lack of internal cohesion, but also to the consequent difficulties in developing a coherent political agenda.
