Debra Irene Arlyn (born February 27, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist from Oregon. Her musical style is a blend of pop, adult contemporary, jazz and R&B, arranged and performed on piano, with lyrics that deal with love and relationships. She is noted for having a powerful voice. She has independently released three albums and one EP. Early life Debra Arlyn was born on February 27, 1986, in Corvallis, Oregon, to Valerie, a homemaker, and to Tony, a musician/businessman. She is of Polish and Irish descent. She grew up in Corvallis and spent her time growing up singing in school and church choirs. When she was 15 she began to teach herself to play piano by ear on her family's baby grand piano and writing her own music and songs, inspired by such artists as Carole King and Fiona Apple. Arlyn Sharon Phoenix (; born December 31, 1944), commonly known as Heart Phoenix, is an American social activist and mother of actors River, Rain, Joaquin, Liberty, and Summer Phoenix. Early life Phoenix was born on December 31, 1944, in The Bronx, New York City, the daughter of Margaret (née Lefkowitz; 1916–1998) and Meyer Dunetz (1910–1996). Arlyn was raised with her two sisters, Rhoda and Merle (Sun). Her mother's family was from Hungary, and her father's family was from Russia. Although Arlyn's family was Jewish and celebrated the Jewish culture and holidays, they did not attend synagogue. Arlyne Brickman (1934–2020) was a mafia informant. Biography Brickman was born in New York's Lower East Side in 1934. When growing up in New York City's Lower East Side, Brickman chose as her role model Virginia Hill, girlfriend of gangster Bugsy Siegel. Brickman said of Hill, "here was a broad that really made it good." As a teenager Brickman became involved with Italian mobsters, hanging out in mafia nightclubs, seducing them in Cadillacs, and in later years running drugs. At 35, Brickman was beaten and raped by gangsters and learned none of her mafia friends would help since she was a woman and Jewish. According to Brickman, she turned on the mob eight years later when a loan shark threatened to hurt her eighteen-year-old, only daughter Leslie, unless Brickman paid off a loan.
