Arliss Howard
Leslie Richard "Arliss" Howard (born October 18, 1954) is an American actor, screenwriter, and film director. He is known for his roles in the films ''Full Metal Jacket'' (1987), '' Tequila Sunrise'' (1988), '' The Lost World: Jurassic Park'' (1997), '' The Time Traveler's Wife'' (2009), ''Moneyball'' (2011), and ''Mank'' (2020). Early life and education Howard was born in Independence, Missouri. He has a sister, Joy Howard, and two younger brothers, Jim and Kip. He graduated from Truman High School and Columbia College. Career Howard established his career with roles in the films ''Full Metal Jacket'', '' Men Don't Leave'', ''Ruby'', and '' Natural Born Killers''. Arliss Ryan
Arliss Ryan (born July 24, 1950) is an American novelist, short story writer and essayist. Her seven novels include historical fiction, contemporary fiction and satire. Her short stories and essays have appeared in literary and commercial magazines.   Ryan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English in 1971. For a time, Ryan worked at the United Nations as an administrative assistant, before pursuing writing full-time. Ryan's first novel, ''The Kingsley House'', weaves stories around her ancestral home and was published by St. Martin's Press in 2000. It was featured in a 2000 volume of Reader's Digest Select Editions. The original Kingsley House still stands in Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia, Michigan. Arliss Sturgulewski
Jane Arliss Sturgulewski (née Wright; September 27, 1927 – April 7, 2022) was an American businesswoman and Republican politician from the U.S. state of Alaska. In a political career in which she started appearing in the spotlight in 1975, she represented Anchorage in the Alaska Senate from 1979 to 1993. Twice during off-years in re-election to her four-year Senate term (in 1986 and 1990), she won the Republican nomination for governor of Alaska against mostly conservative opposition in blanket primaries. The second time, in 1990, she came out in third place behind Walter Hickel and runner up Tony Knowles, which was the second of three times in Alaska's history a major-party nominee placed third. She won a 2000 Anchorage Athena award.
