Arklow (; ; , ) is a town in County Wicklow on the southeast coast of Ireland. The town is overlooked by Ballymoyle Hill. It was founded by the Vikings in the ninth century. Arklow was the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the 1798 rebellion. Its proximity to Dublin led to it becoming a commuter town with a population of 13,163 as of the 2016 census. Arklow is at the mouth of the River Avoca, the longest river wholly within County Wicklow. The town is divided by the river, which is crossed by the Nineteen Arches Bridge, a stone arch bridge linking the southern or main part of the town with the northern part, called Ferrybank. The Nineteen Arches Bridge is the longest handmade stone bridge in Ireland, and a plaque on the south end of the bridge acknowledges this. Leinster Senior League (association Football)
The Leinster Senior League is an association football league organised by the Leinster Football Association. In 2015–16 the Leinster Senior League operated twenty divisions. It also organises various cup competitions. Its Senior Division is a third level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system. Leinster Senior League teams also compete in the Leinster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup (FAI Cup), known as the Extra.ie FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland (as well as Derry City from Northern Ireland). Aaron Barry (born 24 November 1992) is an Irish footballer who last played as a defender for Bray Wanderers. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he came through the ranks at Sheffield United's academy. Spending two years on the fringes of United's first team, he also spent six months on loan at Scottish side Dumbarton in 2013. Career Sheffield United Barry joined Sheffield United having been recommended by Arklow Town. Eric Molloy
Eric Molloy (born 12 December 1992) is an Irish footballer. Career Molloy was born in Carlow, Ireland. He started his senior career with Arklow Town. After that, he played for Wexford, Southern United, and Team Wellington. In 2019, he signed for Stomil Olsztyn in the Polish I liga. Molloy returned to home and signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club Waterford on 25 March 2021. He made his debut a day later in a 2–1 loss to Sligo Rovers. Molloy signed for League of Ireland First Division club Shelbourne on 22 July 2021. Having been released by Shels at the end of the 2021 season, Molloy joined Longford Town for the 2022 campaign.
