Arkansas Highway 330
Highway 330 (AR 330, Ark. 330, and Hwy. 330) is an east–west state highway in Van Buren County, Arkansas. The highway is a low traffic, two-lane highway connecting Highway 16 to Greers Ferry Lake at Fairfield Bay. Highway 330 is maintained by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT). Two former highway designations in the county in the 1960s were returned to local control in 1997 and 2013. Route description Highway 330 begins at an intersection with Greenwood Road and Lakeview Lane in Fairfield Bay, a small retirement community on Greers Ferry Lake in North Central Arkansas. Fairfield Bay, Arkansas
Fairfield Bay is a city in Cleburne and Van Buren counties in the northern part of the U.S. state of Arkansas. The population was 2,108 at the 2020 census. The population in its portion in Van Buren County, which accounts for the bulk of the city limits, made the city the most populous in Van Buren County as of the 2000 census, but with a slight decline in population, lost the distinction to Clinton as of 2010. Fairfield Bay, located on the shore of Greers Ferry Lake, is home to Fairfield Bay Resort, the namesake of Wyndham Worldwide-owned Fairfield Resorts. The Little Red River is a river in White, Van Buren, Searcy, Stone and Cleburne counties of north-central Arkansas. History During the American Civil War, the Battle of Whitney's Lane took place near Searcy on the banks of the Little Red River. Location The upper tributaries of the Little Red River are known as the South Fork, the Middle Fork, and the Devils Fork. Prior to the impoundment of Greers Ferry Lake the three tributaries converged just east of Sugar Loaf Mountain. The South Fork begins in the Ozark National Forest near Scotland in Van Buren County and flows into Greers Ferry Lake near Clinton. Clinton is the county seat of Van Buren County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,602 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous city in the county (reclaiming the distinction from the resort community of Fairfield Bay). Arkansas Highway 336
Highway 336 (AR 336, Ark. 336, and Hwy. 336) is a designation for two east–west state highways in the Arkansas Ozarks. Both are low traffic, two-lane, highways near Greers Ferry Lake. The longer segment was created in 1966, with the Higden segment created in 1972. Both current segments are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT). Route description The ArDOT maintains Highway 336 like all other parts of the state highway system. As a part of these responsibilities, the department tracks the volume of traffic using its roads in surveys using a metric called average annual daily traffic (AADT).
