Arkansas High School
Arkansas High School is a public secondary school in Texarkana in Miller County in southwestern Arkansas. The school serves students from ninth through twelve grade and is administered by the Texarkana Arkansas School District. Academics The assumed course of study is the Smart Core curriculum developed by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). Students may complete regular courses and exams and may select Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and exams that provide an opportunity for college credit. Arkansas High School maintains a partnership with University of Arkansas Community College at Hope (UACCH) for students to complete college coursework and receive concurrent credit. Texarkana is a city in the U.S. state of Arkansas and the county seat of Miller County, on the southwest border of the state. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 29,387. The city is located across the state line from its twin city of Texarkana, Texas. The city was founded at a railroad intersection on December 8, 1873, and was incorporated in Arkansas on August 10, 1880. Carol Dalby serves as the 100th District (previously 1st District) representative for the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing Texarkana. Early life She attended Arkansas High School and Ouachita Baptist University for undergraduate degree before earning a Master's from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M). She went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. Dustin Aaron Moseley (born December 26, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. George Edward Lavender (born September 7, 1955) is an American state politician and a Republican former member of the Texas House of Representatives, having been first elected on November 2, 2010 and voted out of office in 2014 after only two terms.
