One segment of runs east from US Highway 65 (US 65) at Botkinburg to Highway 9/ Highway 16 near Shirley. A second route of begins at Highway 16/ Highway 92 in Greers Ferry and runs east to the lake shore of Greers Ferry Lake. A third segment of begins at the Sugar Maple Dr/Old Tr intersection outside Heber Springs and runs east to Highway 16 in Pangburn. The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT), formerly the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, is a government department in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Sugarloaf Mountain (Cleburne County, Arkansas)
Sugarloaf Mountain is a hiking and mountain biking destination located in Cleburne County, Arkansas, east of the city of Heber Springs, Arkansas, in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. It is a 690 feet (210 m) erosional remnant beside Little Red River (Arkansas). The mountain is topped by an Atoka formation, a geologic formation sequence of sandstone, siltstone, and shale. History The Osage Tribe called the mountain Tonawanda or Ton-Wan-Dah (swift water). The name was that of a family of arrowhead makers. The earliest settlers called the mountain 'Sugarloaf' because of the resemblance in shape to the loaves of unrefined sugar in use at that time. The Louisiana Purchase survey party in 1819 noted the feature as "encountered Sugar Lofe , a well-known landmark". Natives and travelers on the nearby Little Red River used the mountain as a landmark. Arkansas Highway 25 is a northeast–southwest state highway in north central Arkansas. The route runs from US 64 in Conway to US 63/412 in Black Rock through Greers Ferry, Batesville, and the foothills of The Ozarks. Route description AR 25 begins in Conway at US 64. Near Conway, it is strictly a local route with no direct access to Interstate 40. A I-40 exit west of AR 25 is marked as AR 25 North, but the road serving it is officially called US 64 Spur; its junction with US 64 is 0.7 mile west of AR 25. From Conway, the road runs north to Wooster, where it turns northeast, meeting US 65 in Greenbrier. The route overlaps US 65 for several miles north of Greenbrier, then continues northeast, meeting AR 107 and AR 225 before entering Quitman. Woman's Community Club Band Shell
The Woman's Community Club Band Shell is a historic open-air band shell in Spring Park, a public park in downtown Heber Springs, Arkansas. It is a roughly rectangular structure, built out of local fieldstone, with the main half-dome shell formed out of concrete. The sides of the shell are articulated by pilasters, which also appear at the building corners. The rear of the building is enclosed, provide dressing room space for performers. The shell was built in 1933, replacing an older wood-frame performance pavilion. The band shell was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Cleburne County Courthouse (Arkansas)
The Cleburne County Courthouse is located at Courthouse Square in the center of Heber Springs, the county seat of Cleburne County, Arkansas. It is a two-story brick building, built in the Jeffersonian Revival style in 1914 to a design by Clyde A. Ferrell. It has a symmetrical facade, with slightly projecting wings on either side of a central entrance. The entrance is fronted by a projecting four-column Classical portico with gabled pediment. The building is topped by a large octagonal cupola. The building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Heber Springs Commercial Historic District
The Heber Springs Commercial Historic District encompasses the early commercial heart of Heber Springs, Arkansas. The district extends along Main Street, between Broadway and 6th Street, including several buildings along some of the cross streets. The area was developed beginning in 1881, and grew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, featuring a diversity of commercial architecture from that period. Prominent buildings include the Cleburne County Courthouse (1914) and the Morton Building at 101 South 3rd Street, the city's oldest surviving commercial building (1895). The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. It includes several individually listed properties, including the courthouse, the T.E. Olmstead & Son Funeral Home, and the Woman's Community Club Band Shell in Spring Park. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing.
