Ark Burlington Danes Academy is a Church of England non-selective, mixed all-through school located in White City, London on a site. The school is funded by the Department for Education and operated by Ark schools, a registered charity under English law, and sponsored by parent charity Ark. History Ark Burlington Danes Academy traces its origins to two separate schools, Burlington Church of England School for Girls founded in 1699 and St Clement Danes Grammar School for boys, founded in 1562, both originally situated in Westminster. Following a decision by the trustees of the St Clement Danes Holborn Estate Charity, St Clement Danes Grammar School relocated from Ducane Road, Hammersmith to Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, and a new school — Burlington Danes a Church of England School — was formed on its old site in 1976. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Most academies are secondary schools, though slightly more than 25% of primary schools (4,363 as of December 2017) are academies. Kitty Anderson (headmistress)
Dame Katherine Anderson, (4 July 1903 – 15 July 1979), known as Kitty Anderson, was a British schoolteacher. She was headmistress of the North London Collegiate School from 1945 to 1965. Early life and education Katherine Anderson was born on 4 July 1903, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, the eldest child and only daughter of three children born to John Herbert Anderson, a chartered accountant, and his wife, Lizzie (née Dawson). Daniele Salvatore Ernest Dichio (born 19 October 1974) is an English retired professional footballer and coach. Dichio scored the first goal in Toronto FC history against the Chicago Fire on 12 May 2007. Later in that same game he became the first player in club history to be red-carded. Frank Field (British Politician)
Frank Ernest Field, Baron Field of Birkenhead, (born 16 July 1942) is a British politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Birkenhead for 40 years, from 1979 to 2019, serving as a Labour MP until August 2018 and thereafter as an Independent. In 2019, he formed the Birkenhead Social Justice Party and stood unsuccessfully as its sole candidate in the 2019 election. After leaving the House of Commons he was awarded a life peerage in 2020 and sits in the House of Lords as a crossbencher. Andrew McIan Fraser (3 July 1952 – 16 March 2015) was a British musician and songwriter, best known as the bassist and co-composer for the rock band Free, which he helped found in 1968 when he was 15. He also founded the rock band Sharks after Free disbanded 1972. Simon Ross Mensing (born 27 June 1982) is a German-born English professional footballer who plays as a centre back.
