Arizona Impact
Arizona Impact were an American indoor soccer team, founded in 2013. The Arizona Impact competed in the Premier Arena Soccer League and Major Arena Soccer League 2 and played their home matches at the Arizona Sports Complex in Glendale, Arizona. Former indoor soccer professional player Rick Soderman was named the first Arizona Impact head coach in October 2013. Soderman had a seven-year career (1993–2000) playing with six teams. Soderman resigned as head coach on November 16, 2015 and was replaced by team captains Ryan Hays and Ami Hanan on an interim basis. Mike Cudmore was named head coach on January 27, 2016. Glendale () is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, located approximately northwest of Downtown Phoenix. William John Murphy, a native of New Hartford, New York, who resided in the town of Flagstaff, Arizona, Flagstaff in what was then the territory of Arizona, was in charge of building the Arizona Canal from Granite Reef to New River for the Arizona Canal Company. In 1885, he completed the canal, which would bring water to the desert land. Murphy was deep in debt, since he had agreed to be paid in Arizona Canal Company stock and bonds and land instead of cash. In 1887, Murphy formed the Arizona Improvement Company. His objective was to sell the land and water rights south of the canal. Major Arena Soccer League 2
The Major Arena Soccer League 2 is a North American indoor soccer league that serves as the developmental league of the Major Arena Soccer League. History M2 launched in 2017 to "provide an outlet for teams to either reorganize for a re-emergence in the MASL or an avenue for teams to compete in smaller markets in hopes of rising to MASL status." It was announced that M2 would have between 8 and 12 teams. The 2018–19 season brought the total number of teams participating in the season up from 10 to 15. Stockton, California was announced as a market and held a team naming contest, but all news stories from the league website and all mention of the Stockton franchised were dropped. The league changed from having "Conferences" to "Divisions." Expanding from the Eastern and Western conference's the M2 now had the Eastern Division, Mountain Division, and Pacific Division. Indoor Soccer
Indoor soccer or arena soccer (known internationally as indoor football, fast football, or showball) is five-a-side version of minifootball, derived from association football and adapted to be played in walled hardcourt indoor arena. Premier Arena Soccer League
The Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) is an indoor soccer league with mostly semi-professional teams; along with a number of amateur teams across North America. The PASL was previously known as the Federation of Sports Arenas (FSA). The PASL logo formerly belonged to what is now the Major Arena Soccer League. Teams play in regional competition to keep travel costs to a minimum. The champion of each region then compete in a playoff tournament to decide the league champion. PASL currently runs a men's winter and summer league as well as women's summer league. The winter league typically starts in December and ends in March. The summer league runs from May through early August. PASL is an affiliated member of the Pan-American Minifootball Federation and the World Minifootball Federatio. Rick Soderman
Rick Soderman is a retired American soccer forward who played professionally in the Continental Indoor Soccer League, National Professional Soccer League and World Indoor Soccer League. In 1993, Soderman, older brother of Randy Soderman, signed with the Arizona Sandsharks of the Continental Indoor Soccer League. In the spring of 1995, he played outdoor for the Tucson Amigos of the USISL scoring the game-winning goal in overtime before rejoining the Sandsharks in mid-summer. In the fall of 1995, Soderman and his brother Randy both joined the Chicago Storm of the National Professional Soccer League. When the Sandsharks announced their intention to sit out the 1996 season, the Sacramento Knights drafted Rick Soderman in the April 1996 CISL draft. In 1997, Soderman returned to the Sandsharks. Eddie Hertsenberg
Charles Hertsenberg (born March 18, 1986) is an American soccer player who last played for the Dayton Dutch Lions. In 2013, he joined the Cincinnati Saints of the Professional Arena Soccer League. Brandon Swartzendruber
Brandon Swarzendruber (born April 2, 1985) is an American soccer player. Career College and Amateur Swartzendruber played college soccer at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, Arizona, before transferring to Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, prior to his junior year. He earned All-Conference honors in at Midwestern State 2005, and in 2006 was an All-Conference and All-Region pick, a Division II All-American, and the Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Swartzendruber spent his summers in Canada, where he enjoyed a successful amateur career, playing for Okanagan Challenge in the Pacific Coast Soccer League in 2005, and for Thunder Bay Chill in the USL Premier Development League in 2007 and 2008.
