Arizona's 27th Legislative District
Arizona's 27th Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, situated in south central Maricopa County. As of 2021, there are 37 precincts in the district, with a total registered voter population of 115,067. The district has an overall population of 229,588. Rebecca, ; Syriac: , ) from the Hebrew (lit., 'connection'), from Semitic root , 'to tie, couple or join', 'to secure', or 'to snare') () appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau. Marcelino Quiñonez is an American politician, playwright, and activist serving as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from the 11th district. He assumed office on December 16, 2021 after being appointed to replace Diego Rodriguez. Early life and education Quiñonez was born in Durango, Mexico and raised in San Jose, California. After graduating from South Mountain High School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Fine Arts in theatre from Arizona State University During his education, he studied under Marshall W. Mason. Career Quiñonez has worked as a drama teacher at the Arizona School for the Arts and served on the governing board of the Roosevelt Elementary School District. Arizona Senate
The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members.
