Arizona's 16th Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, covering portions of Maricopa and Pinal counties. As of 2021, there are 46 precincts in the district, 25 in Maricopa and 21 in Pinal, with a total registered voter population of 169,513. The district has an overall population of 253,114. Kelly Townsend
Kelly Townsend (born September 27, 1968) is an American Republican politician. She was a member of the Arizona Senate representing District 16 from 2021 to 2023, and previously was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021, acting as Majority Whip from 2017 to 2018. Early years Townsend grew up in Oregon and served in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in human communications and her Master of Applied Science degree in Infant-Family Practice from Arizona State University. She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and small business from Southern Oregon University. John Fillmore
John Fillmore is an American politician and a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 16 from 2019 to 2023. Fillmore also previously served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013 from District 23. The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members.
