Aristides Dias
Aristides Dias (né Gauncar; 30 March 1928 – 6 August 1991) was an Indian playwright, singer, composer, and actor known for his work in Konkani films and '' tiatr'' productions. Early life Aristides Dias, originally known as Aristides Gauncar, was born on 30 March 1928, in Arlem, Raia, Goa, which was a part of Portuguese India during the era of the Portuguese Empire. He was born into a Goan Catholic family, with his parents being Antonio Gauncar (later known as Antonio Joaquim Gaunkar e Dias), who was also involved in directing '' tiatrs'', the traditional Konkani stage plays, and mother Ana Rita Fernandes. Dias had a younger brother named Luciano, who was also involved in the Konkani stage as a singer. Raia, Goa
Raia (''Rai'') is a scenic village on the outskirts of Margao in Salcete Taluk in South Goa District of Goa State, India. It is located six kilometres east from the district headquarters of Margao and 35 kilometres from the State capital Panaji. Vasco Da Gama, Goa
Vasco da Gama (), often shortened to Vasco, is a city in the state of Goa on the west coast of India. It is named after the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama. It is the headquarters of the Mormugão taluka (subdistrict). Remédios Januário "Remmie" Colaço (19 September 1925 – 22 March 2012) was an Indian singer, composer, actor, playwright, and theatre director known for his work in Konkani cinema, Konkani films and ''tiatr'' productions. Early life Remédios Januário Colaço was born on 19 September 1925, in Curchorem, Goa, which was then part of Portuguese India under the Portuguese Empire. His parents, João Sebastião Colaço and Carmelina Pinto, raised him in Curchorem, where he received primary education in Konkani language, Konkani and English at a local school in Khamamol, Curchorem. Colaço's affinity for music blossomed during his time in Sanvordem, Goa, where he later resided with his wife and children.
