Aristide Elphonso Peter Albert
Rev. Aristide Elphonso Peter Albert Sr. (December 10, 1853–September 6, 1910), was an American newspaper editor, theologian, professor, Methodist minister, physician, and surgeon. He edited the '' South-Western Christian Advocate'' newspaper. Biography A. E. P. Albert was born on December 10, 1853, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. His father was Pierre Albert from Bordeaux, France (some sources state he was from Louisiana), and his mother Elizabeth was of African heritage and enslaved by a French man in Louisiana. After the Union Army captured New Orleans during the American Civil War, he ran away from home and attended private school taught by William Barner. He continued his education at a Freedmen's Bureau school, public schools in Atlanta, the Congregational Theological school, and Clark College of Atlanta. Carrollton, New Orleans
Carrollton is a historic neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, USA, which includes the Carrollton Historic District, recognized by the Historic District Landmark Commission. It is the part of Uptown New Orleans farthest upriver while still being easily accessible to the French Quarter. It was historically a separate town, laid out in 1833 and incorporated on March 10, 1845. Carrollton was annexed by New Orleans in 1874 (becoming the city's 16th Ward of New Orleans, 16th and 17th Ward of New Orleans, 17th Wards), but it has long retained some elements of distinct identity. John Percival Jones
John Percival Jones (January 27, 1829November 27, 1912) was an American politician who served for 30 years as a Republican United States Senator from Nevada. He made a fortune in silver mining and was a co-founder of the town of Santa Monica, California. Early life John P. Jones, one of thirteen children of Thomas Jones (1793–1871) and Mary A. Jones, was born in Hay-on-Wye, England. The family immigrated to the United States and settled in Cleveland, Ohio in 1831. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by ''Mycobacterium tuberculosis'' (MTB) bacteria. Tuberculosis generally affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body. Most infections show no symptoms, in which case it is known as latent tuberculosis. Around 10% of latent infections progress to active disease which, if left untreated, kill about half of those affected. Typical symptoms of active TB are chronic cough with blood-containing mucus, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. It was historically referred to as consumption due to the weight loss associated with the disease. Infection of other organs can cause a wide range of symptoms.
