Ari'imate
King Ari'imate Teurura'i (1824 – 14 April 1874) was a member and founder of a Polynesian royal family ( House of Teurura'i) which reigned on the Tahitian island of Huahine and Mai'ao during the 19th century. In Tahitian, his name translate as "sovereign-demised" and "the-sky-forest" respectively. He was installed as king of Huahine in 1852 until his deposition in 1868. Family Ari'imate Teururai was born at Huahine in 1824. He was the second child and only son of Chief Ta'aroa Ari'i and Té-mata-fainu'u vahine. He was the paternal grandson of Mahine Tehei'ura, who reigned as King of Huahine from 1810 to 1815 but abdicated in favor of his niece Teri'itaria II instead of his own son. The House of Teururai was the reigning family of the kingdom of Huahine and Maia'o between Ari'imate's coronation in 1852 and Teha'apapa III's cession of the kingdom to France in 1895. Teururai kings first ruled Huahine in the middle of the 19th century. By the end 19th century, a member of the Teururai dynasty also held thrones in Raiatea. Maerehia of Ra'iatea and Taha'a (1824 – 28 May 1893), was a princess of Raiatea and Tahaa from the Tamatoa dynasty family, a Polynesian royal family. She was wife of Ari'imate of Huahine, founder of the Teururai dynasty which reigned on the Tahitian island of Huahine and Maia'o during the 19th century. She was Queen of Huahine and Maia'o and later Queen regnant in her own right. Teriitaria was the eldest child of King Tamatoa III of Raiatea and Tura’iari’i Ehevahine, a member of the royal family of Huahine. In 1809, Tamatoa arranged for the marriage of Teriitaria and her sister, Teriʻitoʻoterai Teremoemoe, to their widowed second cousin, Pōmare II of Tahiti. Teriitaria became Queen of Huahine in 1815, but did not govern it during the first decades of her rule. In 1815, she fought in the Battle of Te Feipī, which consolidated her husband's rule. Marama Teururai
Prince Marama Teururai later known as Regent Marama (17 December 1851 – 7 June 1909) was a member of a Tahitian royal family (House of Teururai) which reigned on the Tahitian island of Huahine during the 19th century. He was designated as a crown prince of Huahine when his father became king of Huahine in 1852. He never became king of Huahine. Biography Prince Marama Teururai was born at Huahine in 1851. Te-mari'i-a-Teurura'i Ma'i-hara Te-uhe (1840 – 21 August 1891) was a Polynesian queen who reigned the kingdom of Huahine in 18 March 1888 – 22 July 1890 under the reign name Teuhe; her name had also been given as Teuhe II. She belongs to the Teururai family of Huahine. Family She was born at Huahine, ca. 1840. She was the eldest daughter of Queen Tehaapapa II and King Arii-mate of Huahine. She was proclaimed as Queen Teuhe during an insurrection against France on February 22, 1888 and fled to Tahiti to seek protection under her former husband, Pomare V, 22 July 1890. Marriage She married as his first wife, at Huahine, on 11 November 1857 (div. 5 August 1861), Pōmare V, King of Tahiti, eldest surviving son of Pōmare IV, Queen of Tahiti, by her second husband.
