Carmen Argote (born 1981) is a Los Angeles-based artist. She hails from Guadalajara. She is known for performance art and sculpture. Her work has been included in exhibitions and museum collections, including the Hammer Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Denver Art Museum, Orange County Museum of Art and the National Museum of Mexican Art. Estanislao Argote Salaberría (born 21 October 1956) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a left winger. Club career Born in Zarautz, Gipuzkoa, Argote began playing football with local Zarautz KE, joining Basque neighbours Athletic Bilbao in 1975. He spent almost two full seasons with the reserve side, making his first-team debut on 2 October 1977 by playing the full 1–0 home win against Atlético Madrid, shortly before his 21st birthday. In his first season Argote scored 11 La Liga goals in 28 games, helping to a final third place. He went on to form an efficient offensive trio with Dani and Manuel Sarabia, also groomed at the club; as Athletic won back-to-back leagues in 1983–84 he appeared in 65 matches combined, netting ten times. Francisco de Santillán y Argote was a Spanish soldier and colonial administrator who was governor of the Province of Margarita from 13 April 1643 to 23 March 1649. He was succeeded by Fernando de Mendoza Mate de Luna. Captain Francisco de Santillán y Argote was appointed Governor of the Isla Margarita and dispatched to take up that post by an order of 12 May 1643. Don Juan Damián López de Haro was appointed Bishop of Puerto Rico in 1644, holding office until his death in 1648. He found that the churches were extremely poor. He considered that the church was not getting the proper share of tithes, and directed that they should be paid in the cathedral to avoid abuses. Linda Argote is an American academic specializing in industrial and organizational psychology. She is Thomas Lord Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory in the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, where she directs the Center of Organizational Learning, Innovation and Knowledge. Argote became the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research at the Tepper School in 2020.
