Argentina National Futsal Team
The Argentina national futsal team represents Argentina during international futsal competitions. It is governed by the Argentine Football Association, Asociación del Fútbol Argentino. Argentina has qualified and participated in all eight FIFA Futsal World Cup tournaments and along with Brazil national futsal team, Brazil and Spain national futsal team, Spain are the only national teams that have won the FIFA Futsal World Cup, in which Argentina are the defending champions, having won it in 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup, 2016. Argentina has also won the Copa América de Futsal, Copa América three times, in 2003 Copa América de Futsal, 2003, 2015 Copa América de Futsal, 2015, and 2022 Copa América de Futsal, 2022. The Argentine Football Association ( es, Asociación del Fútbol Argentino, ; AFA) is the governing body of football in Argentina based in Buenos Aires. It organises the main divisions of Argentine league system (from Primera División to Torneo Regional Federal and Primera D), including domestic cups: Copa Argentina, Copa de la Liga Profesional and the Trofeo de Campeones de la Liga Profesional. The Spain national futsal team represents Spain in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. It is one of the strongest teams in the World, seven times champions in the UEFA Futsal Championship, and the two times consecutive champions of the FIFA Futsal World Cup. It has been proclaimed world champion in 2000 and 2004, and three times runner-up in 1996, 2008 and 2012. At the continental level of UEFA competitions, it has participated in the eleven disputed editions of the UEFA Futsal Championship, of which was organizer in the first two, of 1996 and 1999. Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. The 2007 AMF Futsal Men's World Cup was the 9th edition of the AMF Futsal World Cup. It was held in several cities in the province of Mendoza (Argentina), from August 31 to September 9. AMF Futsal World Cup
The AMF Futsal World Championships (previously called the FIFUSA Futsal World Championships) is the international championships for futsal, the indoor version of football organized by FIFUSA (1971–2002) and AMF (2003–present). The world championship tournament was held every three years until 2003, and is now played every four years. The first event was held in 1982 in Brazil. The South American teams have won most of the championships, with Colombia and Paraguay as the most successful teams with 3 titles each. Since 2008, a women's tournament is also held. The 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup was the ninth edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA.
