Arena (TV Platform)
Arena, legally ''Arena Sport Rechte und Marketing GmbH'' was a German media company. Its main operation was a pay television channel called ''Arena''. It was a subsidiary of the cable operator Unitymedia. It ceased operations on 30 September 2010. Arena was introduced in late 2005, when it was led by Parm Sadhu, and won the broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga for the years 2006 to 2009 in a DFL auction. In 2010 Unitymedia sublicensed the rights to Premiere. Economic development To pay the €220 million cost of the broadcast rights for the first and second Bundesliga and other associated costs (more sports rights, technology, personnel, advertising), Arena needed 2.5 million subscribers. By mid 2007 they only had 1.1 million customers, which led to huge losses. In the nine months from July 2006 to March 2007 the station lost €189 million. Boxing After Dark
''Boxing After Dark'' is an HBO boxing program, premiered on February 3, 1996, that usually showed fights between well-known contenders, but usually not "championship" or "title" fights. Unlike its sister program, ''HBO World Championship Boxing'', ''BAD'' featured fighters who were usually moving up from ESPN's ''Friday Night Fights'' or another basic cable boxing program. This was where fighters were given their start to become famous depending on how well they fare on ''BAD'' they might have a title fight on ''World Championship Boxing'' or could fall back (Ex: Jason Litzau had many entertaining fights on ESPN before moving up to ''BAD'' to face Jose Hernandez. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Skeleton (sport)
Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which a person rides a small sled, known as a skeleton bobsled (or -sleigh), down a frozen track while lying face down and head-first. The sport and the sled may have been named from the bony appearance of the sled. Unlike other sliding sports of bobsleigh and luge, the race always involves single riders. Like bobsleigh, but unlike luge, the race begins with a running start from the opening gate at the top of the course. The skeleton sled is thinner and heavier than the luge sled, and skeleton gives the rider more precise control of the sled. Skeleton is the slowest of the three sliding sports, as skeleton's face-down, head-first riding position is less aerodynamic than luge's face-up, feet-first ride.
