ArenaBowl XXIX was the championship game of the 2016 Arena Football League season. It was played between the American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul and the National Conference Champion Arizona Rattlers. The game was played at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. This was the Arizona Rattlers' tenth ArenaBowl appearance and the Philadelphia Soul's fourth appearance. It was the Soul's second ArenaBowl victory. Tommy Frevert
Thomas Frevert (born November 24, 1986) is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Northwest Missouri State. He has been a member of the Kansas City Renegades, Oklahoma Defenders, Salina Bombers and Philadelphia Soul. Early years Frevert played football, soccer, basketball and tennis at Lee's Summit North High School in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was a Missouri All-Star in soccer his senior year. College career Frevert played for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State University from to 2005 to 2008. The Bearcats advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship each year of Frevert's college career but lost all four times. Daniel "Red" Raudabaugh (born March 30, 1987) is an American football coach, former player, who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Frisco Fighters. He played college football at Miami University. High school career Raudabaugh attended Coppell High School, in Coppell, Texas, where he was a member of the football and baseball team. He completed 95-of-187 passes for 1,282 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior season and was a second-team all-district selection in 2004. Darius Reynolds (born April 4, 1989) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a wide receiver for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL). He first enrolled at Reedley College before transferring to Iowa State University. He attended C. D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Cleveland Gladiators
The Cleveland Gladiators were an arena football team based in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Gladiators played their home games at Quicken Loans Arena, which they shared with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. The franchise was originally based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and then later in Las Vegas, Nevada, before relocating to Cleveland for the 2008 AFL season. The Portland Steel were a professional arena football team based in Portland, Oregon and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The team started as the Portland Thunder, joining the AFL in 2014 as an expansion team along with the Los Angeles Kiss. The team played their home games at the Moda Center. The Jacksonville Sharks are a professional indoor football team based in Jacksonville, Florida, playing their home games at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Beginning in 2017, the Sharks began play as charter members of the National Arena League (NAL). They were members of the Arena Football League (AFL) from 2010 to 2016 and won the championship of their division in the first four seasons of their existence. Tampa Bay Storm
The Tampa Bay Storm were a professional arena football team based in Tampa, Florida, US. It played in the Arena Football League (AFL). Originally the team was located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and operated as the Pittsburgh Gladiators. The franchise was one of the original four that launched the Arena Football League for its inaugural season in 198. The club was relocated to Tampa Bay area for the 1991 season, being the last of the original teams to either fold or leave its market. After 26 years in the Tampa market, the team ceased operations in December, 2017.
