Arena Bowl '88 (or Arena Bowl II) was the Arena Football League's second championship game. The game featured the number 2 Detroit Drive (9–3) against the number 1 Chicago Bruisers (10–1–1). With 37 combined points it is the lowest-scoring ArenaBowl in history. Chicago's 13 points are the fewest points by a single team in Arenabowl history. Game summary The Drive scored first when Quarterback Rich Ingold on a one-yard touchdown run, while the Bruisers scored with Quarterback Ben Bennett completing a three-yard touchdown pass to WR/DB Mike McDade. In the second quarter, Detroit took control with FB/LB Walter Holman getting an eight-yard touchdown run, while fellow FB/LB Jim Browne got a two-yard touchdown run. After a scoreless third quarter, Chicago managed to respond with FB/LB Billy Stone getting a 10-yard touchdown run (with a failed two-point conversion). Rich Ingold
Richard Ingold (May 15, 1963 – February 15, 2017) was an Arena Football League (AFL) quarterback who played with the Washington Commandos and the Detroit Drive. He holds the all-time record for most career head coaching wins in af2 history, coaching the Quad City Steamwheelers and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, whom he led to Arena Cup VIII in 2007. His head coaching career also included a partial season coaching the Dallas Vigilantes of the AFL in 2010. High school Ingold attended Seton-La Salle Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a student and a letterman in football and baseball. In football, he led his team to two W.P.I.A.L. Class AA Championships, and was an All-State selection as a senior. Ingold graduated from Seton LaSalle High School in 1981. Novo Bojovic (born November 2, 1959) is a Yugoslav-born American former placekicker. Bojovic played college football at Central Michigan before embarking on a career in professional football which lasted nine years. Bojovic graduated from Central Michigan University in 1983 with a B.A. in Business & Marketing Playing career Bojovic began his career in pro football with the United States Football League's Michigan Panthers in 1983. During Bojovic's rookie season of 1983 he played in his first of two USFL championship games. In the 1983 USFL championship game the Michigan Panthers defeated the Philadelphia Stars 24–22 to become USFL champions. Allen Beverly Bennett II (born May 5, 1962) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears. The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States.
