Arco Mirelli (Naples Metro)
Arco Mirelli is an underground metro station that serves Line 6 on the Naples Metro. The Arco Mirelli station, designed by the architect Hans Kollhoff, serves the areas of Via Caracciolo, the Villa Comunale (within which there is the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station), and the eastern part of the district Mergellina. The railway complex is located at the west end of the Villa Comunale near the monument to the Four Days of Naples in Piazza della Repubblica, and consists of two glass pavilions, with obvious reference to the original architecture of the gardens. The previous station is San Pasquale, the next is Mergellina. The Naples Metro ( it, Metropolitana di Napoli; nap, Metrupulitana 'e Napule) is the rapid transit system serving the city of Naples, Italy. The system comprises three underground rapid transit lines ( Line 1, Line 6 and the Naples-Aversa Metro). History In 1911, construction on the urban section of the Rome–Formia–Naples railway, the Villa Literno–Napoli Gianturco railway was commenced, and although it was suspended for the duration of World War I, the line was eventually opened on 28 September 1925 as an urban railway service line, the first in Italy. This service is now known as Line 2. After World War II, the existing Circumvesuviana railway was upgraded to a modern commuter rail, and also the Cumana railway became relevant for the commuter transport. Villa Comunale
The Villa Comunale is a park in Naples, southern Italy. It was built in the 1780s by King Ferdinand IV (later known as Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies) on land reclaimed along the coast between the main body of the city and the small port of Mergellina. The park was originally a "Royal Garden", reserved for members of the royal family, but open to the public on special holidays such as the Festival of Piedigrotta. The park was opened to the general public on a permanent basis in 1869 after the unification of Italy. The park houses the Anton Dohrn aquarium, a renowned scientific institution built in the 1870s. San Pasquale is a metro station that serves Line 6 on the Naples Metro. The San Pasquale station, designed by the architect Boris Podrecca, serves the areas of Via Caracciolo, the Villa Comunale (within which there is the Zoological Station Anton Dohrn) and the central part of the Chiaia district, and part of the San Ferdinand. The railway complex is located on the eastern edge of the Villa Comunale, in opposition to the previous line stop in Piazza della Repubblica, the west end. The previous station is Chiaia - Monte di Dio, the next is Arco Mirelli. Mergellina (Naples Metro)
Mergellina is an underground metro station that serve Line 6 on the Naples Metro. It was opened on 4 February 2007 as part of the inaugural section of Line 6 between Mergellina and Mostra. Overview Mergellina, designed by Lampugnani and entry into service February 4, 2007, is the current terminus of the Line 6 while waiting for the line to be extended to Municipio: there are two binary logs. As with the entire line, passenger traffic is still at most, given the small size of the line. In 2008 the station work continues to connect to the train station and Metro Napoli Mergellina, one of the main stations of Naples, in which you can take the metro Line 2. Station is reached by passing under the bridge of the metro Line 2. Mergellina is part of the Art Stations and has been decorated with works by Merz.
