Frolovo
Frolovo (russian: Фро́лово) is a types of inhabited localities in Russia, town in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located on the Archeda River (Don River (Russia), Don's drainage basin, basin), north of Volgograd, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: History Frolovo grew out of the Cossack settlement of Frolov. The first written mention of the Frolov settlement was in 1859. At that time there were 22 yards in the settlement, 236 people lived there. In 1868, construction the Gryazi–Povorino–Volgograd, Tsaritsyn railroad began, which passed near the settlement. In 1870, the Archeda railway station was founded, and the locomotive depot was opened. It was granted town status in 1936. A drainage basin is an area of land where all flowing surface water converges to a single point, such as a river mouth, or flows into another body of water, such as a lake or ocean. A basin is separated from adjacent basins by a perimeter, the '' drainage divide'', made up of a succession of elevated features, such as ridges and hills. A basin may consist of smaller basins that merge at river confluences, forming a hierarchical pattern. Volga Uplands
The Volga Upland, also known as the Volga Uplands, Volga Hills, or Volga Plateau, (Russian: Приволжская возвышенность - Privolzhskaya vozvyshennost) is a vast region of the East European Plain in the European part of Russia that lies west of the Volga River and east of the Central Russian Upland.
