Archana Girish Kamath (born 17 June 2000) is an Indian table tennis player. She won the gold medal at the 2023 National Games of India in women's singles. Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage. 2023 National Games Of India
The 2023 National Games of India, also known as the 37th National Games of India and informally as Goa 2023 are held from 25 October to 9 November 2023 in the state of Goa. Host Goa Olympic Association was given hosting rights by the Indian Olympic Association after the closing ceremony held for the 2022 National Games of India at Surat on 13 October 2022.
