Archaeological Museum, Thrissur is an art and archaeological museum situated in Thrissur City of Kerala state, India. The museum is located in the Thrissur Zoo compound. History The archaeological museum was started as Sree Mulam Chithrasala (Picture Gallery) in 1938 under the auspices of the Government of Cochin. The gallery was started in the balcony of Thrissur Town Hall, Thrissur City. Later an archaeological gallery was attached to the Picture Gallery in 1948. In 1975, the Department of Archaeology purchased a building at Chembukavu in Thrissur City and the archaeological and Picture Gallery were shifted to the new building in 1975 and named it as Archaeological Museum, Thrissur. Kollengode Palace
Kollengode Palace is a palace situated in Thrissur town of Thrissur district, Kerala state, India. History The Raja of Kollengode, Vasudeva Raja, constructed this palace in 1904 and gave it to his daughter. The original Kollengode palace(kalari kovilakam) is situated in Kollengode, Palakkad. In 1975, the Department of Archeology acquired the property (part of Kollengode palace in Thrissur )and converted it into a museum. Some personal belongings of Vasudeva Raja are on display. The Bronze Age Harappan civilisation, now more often called the Indus Valley Civilisation, is named after the site, which takes its name from a modern village near the former course of the Ravi River, which now runs to the north. Wayanad District
Wayanad () is a district in the north-east of Indian state Kerala with administrative headquarters at the municipality of Kalpetta. It is the only plateau in Kerala. The Wayanad Plateau forms a continuation of the Mysore Plateau, the southern portion of Deccan Plateau. It is set high in the Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 meters. The Thrissur Town Hall is an imposing building situated in Thrissur city, Kerala state, India.
