Emmanuel Arceneaux (born September 17, 1987) is an American professional wide receiver for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Alcorn State University. Arceneaux signed as an undrafted free agent with the BC Lions of the CFL in 2009. He has also been a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, New York Jets, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Frisco Fighters. College career Arceneaux played college football for the Alcorn State Braves. While at Alcorn State, he maintained a 3.0 GPA and was president of the student-athlete advisory committee, while recording 99 career catches for 1,618 and 12 TDs on the football field. Early career Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Harold Arceneaux grew up in the B.W. Cooper housing development. At 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, he was an excellent athlete but struggled academically in high school. Because he did not have suitable academic credentials to play basketball at a four-year university, he enrolled at the College of Eastern Utah, a junior college in Price, Utah. As a freshman (1996–97), he led CEU to a 28–5 record and the Scenic West Conference regular-season championship. He averaged 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, shooting 57.3 percent on field goals and 40.9 percent on three-pointers. Arceneaux transferred to Midland Junior College (in Midland, Texas) for the 1997–98 season. He averaged 17.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, leading his team to a 26–4 record. Fernest Arceneaux (August 27, 1940 – September 4, 2008) was a French speaking Creole Zydeco accordionist and singer from Louisiana. Biography Arceneaux was born to a large Creole family based in Carencro, Louisiana. Arceneaux first picked up his brother-in-law's accordion as a child and learned to play by copying his father, Ferdinand Arceneaux, who was a Creole musician whom he backed at local house parties. By the 1960s, Arceneaux had switched to guitar in his rock and roll group Fernest and the Thunders. Not until 1978, at the behest of his hero Clifton Chenier, did Arceneaux return to the accordion. Also in 1978 Arceneaux and his band were discovered by Belgian blues enthusiast Robert Sacre, recorded their first album, and began touring heavily, particularly in Europe. Edgar Arceneaux (born 1972, in Los Angeles) is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He is the co-founder of the Watts House Project, a non-profit neighborhood redevelopment organization in Watts. Career Arceneaux received his BFA from Art Center College of Design in 1996 and his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2001 after attending the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1999 and the Fachhochschule Aachen, Germany, in 2000 and 2001.
