Arcada University of Applied Sciences ( sv, Yrkeshögskolan Arcada) is a Swedish-speaking university of applied sciences (a polytechnic) in Helsinki, Finland. It is owned and maintained by the Arcada Foundation. Characteristics It offers classes mostly in Swedish, but also in English. Since 2004, it is located in the campus in Arabianranta, Helsinki. Before 2004, it was located in three campuses: two in Helsinki (in Alppila and Lauttasaari) and one in Espoo (in Pohjois-Tapiola). An ammattikorkeakoulu (yrkeshögskola in Swedish, polytechnic or university of applied sciences in English), abbreviated ''AMK'', is a Finnish institution of higher education. The term literally means "school of higher vocational education". Samfundet Folkhälsan, or in short Folkhälsan (literally "Public Health"), is a non-governmental organization based in Finland. It is active in advocating social welfare and health care for the Swedish speakers of Finland. The organization carries out scientific research and informs and counsels in order to promote health and good quality of life. Folkhälsan’s activities include assistance, support, education, and care, being present at every stage of life. Founded in 1921, Folkhälsan employs today approximately 1,400 people. Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a Europe-wide student organisation. The organization supports and develops student exchanges, both inside the Erasmus+ programme and outside of it.
