Arbetarmakt
Workers Power ( sv, Arbetarmakt) is the Swedish section of the League for the Fifth International, a small Trotskyist organisation. It was founded in 1994, as a split from Socialistiska Partiet (the Swedish section of USFI). In 1998 it fused with another Trotskyist organisation, the Marxist Left (a split in 1996 from the CWI). Arbetarmakt has been much involved in the anti-globalisation movement, but also in anti-racist struggles. It has an affiliated youth organisation, called Revolution In political science, a revolution (Latin: ''revolutio'', "a turn around") is a fundamental and relatively sudden change in political power and political organization which occurs when the population revolts against the government, typically due ...br> and a book store in Stockholm called Radika As part of the League for the Fifth International they consider themselves to be orthodox Trotskyism, orthodox Trotskyists. League For The Fifth International
The League for the Fifth International (L5I) is an international grouping of revolutionary Trotskyist organisations around a common programme and perspectives. History L5I was founded as the Movement for a Revolutionary Communist International. Its first member groups were Workers' Power in Britain, the Irish Workers Group, Pouvoir Ouvrier in France, and Gruppe Arbeitermacht (GAM) in Germany. After a congress in 1989 the organisation adopted a common programme, the ''Trotskyist Manifesto'', and a democratic centralist constitution, under which each national section agreed to be bound by the decisions of the international organisation as a whole. Publications The League publishes a quarterly English-language journal entitled ''Fifth International''. The majority of writers for this appear to be from the British group, although other sections publish journals in their own languages. ''Revolutionärer Marxismus'' is the German-language journal. The League previously publish ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Socialistiska Partiet
The Socialistiska Partiet ( en, Socialist Party) was a Swedish Trotskyist political party, the Swedish section of the Fourth International. History The party was formed at a congress in 1971, through the merger of the Revolutionary Marxists (RM) and the Bolshevik Group (BG). Initially it was called League of Revolutionary Marxists ( sv, Revolutionära Marxisters Förbund, RMF). One section of RM did not agree with the formation of RM and formed the Communist Working Groups (KAG). KAG would later reconcile with RMF, merging into it in 1972. At the fifth party congress, held in 1975, the name was changed to Communist Workers League (''Kommunistiska Arbetarförbundet''). In 1982, the party adopted its current name. In the early 1990s, the party suffered a small split that went on to form the Swedish section of the Pathfinder tendency. In 1994, a smaller group left the SP to form a Swedish section of what is now the League for the Fifth International, Arbetarmakt. The party publis ... Trotskyist
Trotskyism is the political ideology and branch of Marxism developed by Ukrainian-Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky and some other members of the Left Opposition and Fourth International. Trotsky self-identified as an orthodox Marxist, a revolutionary Marxist, and Bolshevik–Leninist, a follower of Marx, Engels, and 3L: Vladimir Lenin, Karl Liebknecht, and Rosa Luxemburg. He supported founding a vanguard party of the proletariat, proletarian internationalism, and a dictatorship of the proletariat (as opposed to the " dictatorship of the bourgeoisie", which Marxists argue defines capitalism) based on working-class self-emancipation and mass democracy. Trotskyists are critical of Stalinism as they oppose Joseph Stalin's theory of socialism in one country in favour of Trotsky's theory of permanent revolution. Trotskyists criticize the bureaucracy and anti-democratic current developed in the Soviet Union under Stalin. Vladimir Lenin and Trotsky, despite their ideological disp ... Committee For A Workers' International (1974)
The Committee for a Workers' International (CWI) was an international association of Trotskyist political parties. Today, two groups claim to be the continuation of the CWI. History Founding The origins of the CWI can be traced to a group of British trotskyists which were expelled from the USFI in 1965, after disagreements regarding the Colonial Revolution, Gurrilerism, Studentism and the post war boom. But it is not till 1974 that they set about building an international. The founding conference of the CWI was held in London on 20 to 21 April 1974 and attended by supporters of what was then called Militant (or the Militant tendency), from 12 countries including Britain, Ireland and Sweden. In the early years of the international, sections generally pursued a policy of entryism into social democratic or labour parties. As such, the CWI was originally secretive because to organise openly risked the expulsion of its sections from the parties in which they were working. End of ... Revolution (political Group)
Revolution, or Revo, a revolutionary socialist youth organization, was founded in the UK by Workers Power, part of the League for the Fifth International. According to its statutes and manifesto it is organizationally independent from Workers Power, although there are disagreements about the degree of independence (independent members viewing it as subordinate to LFI, LFI arguing that since its international and national councils have sovereignty, it is independent). It has official sections in the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the USA. It was formed in the mid-1990s at the beginning of the anti-capitalist movement in Europe. Participation in the EuroMarches in Amsterdam and support for the Liverpool Dockers strike were amongst its first campaigns. Now the group participates in the anti-capitalist movement and anti-war movements. It has raised the slogan for a Youth International to come out of the European Social Forum ... Orthodox Trotskyism
Orthodox Trotskyism is a branch of Trotskyism which aims to adhere more closely to the philosophy, methods and positions of Leon Trotsky and the early Fourth International, Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx than other avowed Trotskyists. The first Trotskyist international to describe itself as orthodox Trotskyist was the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI). Shortly after its formation in 1953, it wrote an open letter in which it described the tradition of the Fourth International as orthodox Trotskyism and called for orthodox Trotskyists to rally to the ICFI. Orthodox Trotskyism embodied their opposition to the International Secretariat of the Fourth International (ISFI), whose policies they described as " Pabloism". The ICFI claimed that it alone defended the principles of the Fourth International while the "Pabloites" subordinated the international workers movement to the bureaucracies or bourgeois leaders. The subsequent history of orthodox Trotskyism is large ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Far-left Politics In Sweden
Far-left politics, also known as the radical left or the extreme left, are politics further to the left on the left–right political spectrum than the standard political left. The term does not have a single definition. Some scholars consider it to represent the left of social democracy, while others limit it to the left of communist parties. In certain instances, especially in the news media, ''far-left'' has been associated with some forms of authoritarianism, anarchism, and communism, or it characterizes groups that advocate for revolutionary socialism, Marxism and related communist ideologies, anti-capitalism or anti-globalization. Extremist far-left politics have motivated political violence, radicalization, genocide, terrorism, sabotage and damage to property, the formation of militant organizations, political repression, conspiracism, xenophobia, and nationalism. Far-left terrorism consists of militant or insurgent groups that attempt to realize their ideals through poli ...
