Arani Jayaprakash
Arani Velayudham Jayaprakash (born 20 June 1949 in Karnataka) is an Indian former first-class cricketer and Test cricket umpire. Cricketer Jayaprakash played 79 first-class matches, starting with 3 matches for Mysore in the 1971/72 and 1972/73 Ranji Trophy, and continuing when the team was renamed Karnataka until 1984/85. He played in 6 Ranji Trophy finals for Karnataka, winning in 1973/4, 1977/78 and 1982/3, and losing the final to Bombay in 1974/5, and to Delhi in 1978/9 and 1981/2. An all-rounder, he scored 3,727 runs in 125 innings, at an average of 35.49, including 6 centuries and 21 half-centuries. He reached his top score of 150* in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Bengal in February 1979, having also scored 69 in the first innings. As a bowler, he took 60 wickets at an average of 37.13, with best bowling of 3–12 opening the bowling against Andhra in November 1978. Wills Trophy
The Wills One-Day Trophy (named after sponsor Wills of ITC Limited), commonly referred to as the Wills Trophy, was an Indian List A cricket tournament organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Established in the 1977–78 season, it was played to find the best limited overs side of the domestic season as only the Ranji Trophy had inter-zonal finals. The annual tournament was played between seven sides, the five zonal winners and two composite teams, Wills XI (named after the title sponsor) and Indian Board President XI. This is a list of cricket umpires who have officiated at least one men's One Day International (ODI) match. As of October 2022, 418 umpires have officiated in an ODI match. The first ODI match took place on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The umpires for this game were Tom Brooks and Lou Rowan. In April 2019, Claire Polosak became the first woman to stand in men's ODI match, when she was one of the on-field umpires for the final of the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. The 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup was the eighth Cricket World Cup, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The 2000 Asia Cup (as called Pepsi Asia Cup) was the seventh edition of the Asia Cup for cricket, which was held in Bangladesh between 29 May – 7 June, 2000.
