Vi Anand is an Indian film director and screenwriter who primarily works in Telugu cinema. He is an architect turned film maker. Early life and career In the year 2008 Anand joined director AR Murugadoss as an assistant director. He made his directorial debut with ''Hrudayam Ekkadunnadi'' in 2014. The genre of science fiction has been prevalent in the Indian film industry since the second half of the 20th century. Beginning in 1952, the Tamil film '' Kaadu'' was made, which was an Indian-American co-production. The 1963 Tamil film ''Kalai Arasi'' and 1967 Hindi film ''Chand Par Chadayee'' also have science fiction in its storyline. '' The Alien'' was a science fiction film under production in the late 1960s which was eventually cancelled. The film was being directed by Bengali Indian director Satyajit Ray and produced by Hollywood studio Columbia Pictures. The script was written by Ray in 1967, based on "Bankubabur Bandhu", a Bengali story he had written in 1962 for ''Sandesh'', the Ray family magazine. Baradwaj Rangan is an Indian film critic, writer, and formerly the deputy editor of ''The Hindu''. He later became a senior editor of Film Companion. Rangan won the National Film Award for Best Film Critic in 2006. Before joining ''The Hindu'', Rangan wrote for ''The New Indian Express''. He has also authored two books, worked as a screenwriter, and is a teacher at the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. Career Baradwaj Rangan had no formal training in filmmaking or cinema writing. Bala Murugan, better known by his stage name Gana Bala is an Indian playback singer in Tamil cinema. He rose to prominence after rendering the songs 'Aadi Pona Aavani' and 'Nadukadalula Kappala' from the soundtrack of ''Attakathi''. ''Jil Jung Juk'' () is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language black comedy film directed by debutant Deeraj Vaidy, who also co-wrote the script with Mohan Ramakrishnan. ''Ceylon'', titled ''Inam'' in Tamil, is a 2013 Indian war film written, directed, filmed and produced by Santosh Sivan. The story revolves around a group of teenagers in an orphanage set during the civil war in Sri Lanka.
